John 14.15:17
“If you love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father and He shall give you another Comforter that he may abide with you forever.”
In another versions the Holy Spirit was translated as (The Thankful man) in The Holy Land (or Israil) a lot of gospels copies translate the Holy Spirit as (farqaleet) means in Hebrew (The Thankful man) or “Grateful man “!!!!!!!!
That’s mean the real mean of (Holy Spirit) is (Human)!
Muslim theologians have said that “Comforter, farqaleet .....” is Muhammad, the and “abide forever” means the perpetuity of his laws but we can’t believe Muslims.

Another asker has asked a question that has led me to want to know more about these 3 words for soul:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070415124127AAVEJo0&r=w&pa=FZptHWf.BGRX3OFMhjJTVhgDGCGPB43FLGbe7JDZy5mILU3T2g--&paid=answered#NbUvWzu1UjZmegm4wm13

In all the passages from the Hebrew Bible, the word used is "Nefesh."
Can the nefesh die? What about the ruakh and neshamah?

Thanks.

Why would that be so evil/upsetting? Did The Bible say that He definitely *didn't* do this?

Hi, I have been a member for a very long and it was my understanding that food should not be served or be part of Primary expect Nursery. Today I found this article:
http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art7578.asp
It quotes the manual "Teaching No Greater Call" and I look through it but I cannot find where it says specifically that food in Primary detracts from the Spirit as suggested in this article.

I would like to know if anyone can give me a quote or policy from either a Primary Manual or the Church Handbooks where it says food should not be served or be part of Primary.

Thanks a lot.

Which would you choose? Lets say God is the light and Satan is darkness.....Light always over powers dark. You take a flashlight a turn it on in the dark and it takes away the darkness. You try to take darkness and try to over power the light, you can't! God is always over Satan and he always over powers him!!!!!!!

How many think that there are two different accounts for the Biblical Creation? Genesis 1 & 2?

You're right:

One is talking about the world and universe. Plants, Animals, Adam etc.

Then in 2 it is talking about what God created in the Graden. Adam was first in the garden, then God brought animals to see which one Adam would like, then when Adam saw none God made Eve.

No contradiction two seperate things. What do you think?

Do you think Shias and Sunnis would learn to "love their neighbor" and "love their enemy" if they rejected the religion that has taught them to walk into market places to blow themselves up killing their neighbor. Islam sure isn't leading them in a positive direction maybe Christianity or Buddhism would calm them down.
Don't be stupid and blame the violence on the US, Britain and Australia. THe Iraqis had a chance to make whatever they wanted out of their country with free elections but they decided to slaughter each other instead. They were fighting before we got there (Saddam killed over a million Shias and Kurds) and they will be fighting after we leave. Are they hopeless? Can another more peaceful faith save them?

How can the Mormon church ignore "Thou shalt have no graven images."

What in the word "NO" don't the inspired leaders understand?

Each time I visit a Mormon, and see the fluffy pictures of their effeminate God, I wince.

I pray to my Master. Not a guy who would make the cover of some HappyBoy mag.

And the Mormons think the Catholics have the wrong usage of "trinkets" GO TO A DESERET BOOK store...and what do you see but merchandizing spiritual stuff.

What would Jesus do to the tables there, huh? (be honest now)

Isn't gluttony a sin...and if you refuse to exercies and lose weight, then you are not properly taking care of your, "temple of God"..you continue to live in sin...

Fundies always say, if someone refuses to turn from their sin they are going to hell...

So, what about you fat fundies...aren't you going to hell too?

Please don't tell me this is a medical condition...because quite honestly...if gays aren't born that way...neither are fat people...

Fat people choose what they put in their mouth just like gays do.

The decision of a bunch of Emperor Constantine's lackeys is what black listed some gospels. This was the opinion of men centuries after the fact, all Gospels are equally doubtful and fit the definition of apocryphal crap.

There have already been many, many accounts unfairly suspended by Yahoo, caused by probably a small group of people who abuse the report abuse button.

One of the regulars in this section decided to try and do something against that. Questions on Y!A come and go very rapidly, so to make it possible for more people to read about and support that cause, as a reminder I am simply posting a link to her question for more details.

I'm asking you all to click on the link and help her in trying to bring this under Yahoo's attention.

this is a quote by a famous Russian anarchist, and i agree with his stance against religion and authority. i think god is fake, and even if he were real, he has stood by and done nothing whilst i suffered throughout my life. therefore, i hate religion. i hate everyone that ever abandoned me and made hell of out of my life (parents, "friends", etc.). god is the real culprit here, though. he is indeed the WORST creation made by man. government is the second worst. what do u think?

In John 6:53-54, Jesus says:

"I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day."

Is this literally true?

There are 110 million year old fossils of crocodiles. There are not fossils of horses, house cats, cows, or any of thousands of species from that long ago age. If the creationists are to be taken as correct there should be fossils of all species dating to 110 million years ago. Else, the God of the Old Testament is without viable continuity of purpose and reason.
The only truthful argument against this theory is that the God of the Old Testament created even the fossils in place. Would this be to confound humans and cause strife in their midst? However, there is another pertinent question to be asked on the above defense. Why would this God also create living crocodiles of a line that still exist nearly unchanged? None of the large dinosaur of fossil fame exists.
I know that those of the Bible accept, and, in some cases cherish parables. Why can they not accept that the Genesis Creation is a parable for consumption of a people much less learned and advanced than those of today?

Many (not all) of my Christian friends love to drink, do drugs, and get laid. I find this much less common amongst my Jewish, Muslim, and Hindu friends. Do these actions undermine Christianity? Now I'm not saying Jews, Muslims, and Hindus do not do these things. However, it is less common to witness this. Why are so many Christians/Catholics less religious than other groups? Does this say anything about the religion? I notice that, in general, Christians are much more lenient and flexible with their religion, and many of my Christian friends do not know the significance of Easter or Christmas, and look at them as present day and play time and feast. I'm just wondering why Christian's are more prone to peer pressure and do not follow their religion as well as non-Christians.
