Muslims are against terrorism?

Or do you honestly believe that 1.2. billion people think and act alike???

With evidence that Muslim militants were responsible for the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, prominent Islamic scholars and theologians in the West say unequivocally that nothing in Islam countenances the Sept. 11 actions. But in interviews, they explained that certain scriptural passages are distorted by Islamic extremists like Osama bin Laden.

At Easter I got about 6 different flyers asking me to come to churches (all of different varients of Christianity) for a sermon / service. Should these unsolicited flyers be classed as spam (maybe not the right word - but the forced below the line advertising), the same as credit card companies asking for you to sign up and fast food restaurants? Because you can ask the Post Office to stop delivering the junk mail to your door, but churches ask members to deliver it so you are forced to read it. So is it right you are forced to receive it and all the paper it waste. For the record, i think it is Spam and it should be stopped.

I have heard that in Islam, God is to big and to holy to get close to, is this true? And is it different from a Christians relationship to God, which they say is very close and intimate? Please explain:

According to the Christian doctrine, Jesus died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. The idea here is that every human is born with sins, or that all humans will sin, and therefore it was necessary that someone as pure as Jesus would be the crucified to nullify these sins. The question is; why does anyone have to die for our sins when God, the All-Merciful, could as easily give us forgiveness if we ask for it? Isn't God the one who makes the rules? Why does He have to make someone suffer for our sins or for someone else's sins? Isn't that unjust of Him? According to the Bible the way to redemption could be obtained without the need for sacrifice. The Bible says:

Ezekiel 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

What is the basic meaning of the gospal of Thomas? Why does the Vatican reject it....they accept all of the other gospels? Finally, is there a religion that does accept and believe in the Gospel of Thomas?

Lets get one thing straight, i have no problem with religious people, i respect their views, i simply wish to know if there are others out there who want to cry every time they hear self-righteous preaching.

I was at church a short while ago - not out of choice, it was for a christening - and it was the single most depressing experience of my life, people there for the service that is, wasting several hours of their life every week, in what i can only see as a selfish attempt to get away with the bad stuff theyve done (be forgiven for sinning) and get into heaven... and i jsut cant help but feel like there is something wrong with us humans as a race, if we feel the need to get one over on each other, even after we are dead.

Right, bet thats got some of you sparked up for some religious debating/slagging.

Look at the size of some of these mega churches and the amount of money they bring in. It seems to me from what I see they have just figured out a way to use the system. Look at the lifestyle these pastors live. Isn't there anyone to keep them accountable?

I have just seen someone say
if you were a true Muslim you would not be open minded
I have seen people in the past here say
if you were a true Christian you would be stoning people

why do so many people focus on the negative
why arent we doing more praising for those who are still following their faith yet are becoming more open and peaceful than those of the past ?

people hate others for what their religion has done
shouldnt we be showing more love to those for what they are doing for their religion ?

An omniscient omnipotent being created this planet and all of mankind to worship him. Against his wishes we gained knowledge of good and evil and for some reason, nakedness and for this we were banned from the paradise he created.

After generations the state of the planet had become so bad in the eyes of this loving being he decided to wipe everything out with a giant flood. He warned the last good man and drowned everyone else (somewhere in between he also nuked two cities for being bad). Then, after promising never to flood the planet again he let things run their course until mankind again had become corrupted.

This time, he sent his son who also was himself by way of a virgin birth specifically to get him/himself killed on a cross so he could forgive us. If you don't believe this story you will burn in hell for eternity with no chance of parole, ever. Remember, he gave you the choice!

I'm not choosing her because i'm against the catholic religion....just because she's probably the most famous example and was deeply religious.

(Same question applies to the other monarchs/rulers and their supporters whatever their religious beliefs).

The new testament had been around over 1500 years when she became queen so they can't have interpreted the 'though shall not kill' thing very well huh?

Oh yeah....did all the people they burned go to hell, and if Mary didn't think she had to repent for the burnings will she too have gone to hell?

I can't really imagine the life in Southeast Asia though I'm very curious. Interesting facts from what I know, men and women there are not "that" conservative as we think.
For better sexual pleasure, plastic surgery is popular like in Hollywood. I say some Americans I've known are more of a conservative type, which seems common to me.
