An omniscient omnipotent being created this planet and all of mankind to worship him. Against his wishes we gained knowledge of good and evil and for some reason, nakedness and for this we were banned from the paradise he created.

After generations the state of the planet had become so bad in the eyes of this loving being he decided to wipe everything out with a giant flood. He warned the last good man and drowned everyone else (somewhere in between he also nuked two cities for being bad). Then, after promising never to flood the planet again he let things run their course until mankind again had become corrupted.

This time, he sent his son who also was himself by way of a virgin birth specifically to get him/himself killed on a cross so he could forgive us. If you don't believe this story you will burn in hell for eternity with no chance of parole, ever. Remember, he gave you the choice!

God's Kitten: but is it an accurate rendition of events in the bible? Because it is pretty much what I took away from reading it.

mrs_nmducote: sorry if I got the sequence of destruction a little mixed up. However, that was not the question.

You obviously are a... Christian! Though not in real life. Thank God. What a wonderful translation. Who needed the verbosity of millions of words to get the main points across. This is not slander. It isn't an "insult". It is a fact. I know AcidZ. He has, well... at LEAST 98.9% tact. :-) I may be just a little over or under, who knows? Any Christian that would take it as an insult is denying their Christianity. Except Uncle Wayne, of course - who actually follows the compassionate teachings of Jesus rather than allowing himself to be caught up in the nonsense. I would love to see a Christian actually defend Acid, because he is going with truth rather than beating around the bush. If you can, I commend you.

Hmmm. Are you a Cookie-ist? ~~*Shyly holds fresh-baked cookie out to AcidZ*~~

*mrs_nmducote* - If you read the Pagan teachings, you'll realize that nearly the whole of Christianity was based on Pagan stories.

Study Islam if you love studying religions because it is the most misunderstood, but fastest growing religion there is. Don't look at wiki Islam though, because it is not authentic. just read Qur'an (there is only one version of it and it has never change, never will) and look for Hadiths (sayings of the Prophet (saw)) The prophet's (saw) life is truly a great story as a whole. some parts can be terrifying, but if you know his whole life story it is truly heart-melting. All prophets' stories are heart-melting, but Muhammad (saw) gives me shivers everytime I think of him (saw) no lies!

Sodom, Gomorrah, and the cities of the District were destroyed during Abraham's lifetime (Lot was his nephew), long after the Flood.

The doctrine of a burning hellfire and the teaching of the immortality of the soul are not actually Biblical teachings, although they have been adopted from pagan religions by "Christianity."

Since the first sentence in your question is false....I imagine the rest of the rant is a load of........

14But the natural, nonspiritual man does not accept or welcome or admit into his heart the gifts and teachings and revelations of the Spirit of God, for they are folly (meaningless nonsense) to him; and he is incapable of knowing them [of progressively recognizing, understanding, and becoming better acquainted with them] because they are spiritually discerned and estimated and appreciated

A religion that holds to salvation by grace alone through faith in Christ alone.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works lest anyone should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
