Better. Killing someone over a belief is never a good idea. It's just stupid, no matter how wrong they may be, or how wrong you may think they are. There are always more people with that belief no matter what, so even by killing as many people like that as you can, you'll never really accomplish anything. Burning a "heretic" doesn't solve anything, it only promotes violence.

Worse. Heretics can be dangerous! Luckily, by the definition of heretic, we atheists would be safe.

If you want to burn heretics, maybe you should also bring back the burning of witches, which according to definition, would include Jesus (based on his magical abilities) and perhaps even his followers by extension. But that wouldn't help society because then Wiccans would burn too:(

Have a nice day!

A few weeks ago, I would have laughed at that question. Of course, I would have said, we are better for not burning people we don't agree with.
Of course, that was before I came into this forum today. Today, there has been so much hate spewed in here that you can almost see the poison glowing on the walls....
I am beginning to understand how some people can actually anticipate watching others burn in hell, even though I don't believe that for a minute.
Let's not burn them, though. That wouldn't be very Christ-like. Let's just ask 'em about Pascal's Wager, so they can all go have a drink.
Cute li'l tykes, you just gotta luv 'em.....

I don't know about better or worse, but it's definitely safer, if the Spanish Inquisition is a model for picking heretics.

I'm not sure to be honest. It's worse in a sense that blasphemy is spread everywhere under the flag of 'freedom of speech' Don't get me wrong, I'm all for freedom of speech and freedom of choice and from that point of view I think it's better that no life is taken. I say, let God judge everyone. We better concentrate on loving each other :)

Depends on if you're the "heretic" or not.
