Everybody's aware that the Bible was thrown together over the ages with some books going in and other books being tossed out, right?

I ask this because I've gotten some odd reactions to the fact that I'm contributing my time and labor (and roses, when they are in bloom) for Hindu pujas and talks. The person who hosts these events (at his home, and at his own expense) feeds from 15 to over 40 people every Sunday. I'm cooking with him once a month as my contribution; he asks nothing of anyone, and will feed anyone who comes to his door.

Would you ever give your time/labor/money/gifts to a religious group other than your own religion? If so, which ones? If not, why not?

Jesus being 100% God and 100% Human, as a 3 year old do you think he had a godly mind with infinite memory? or a mind of a 3 year old with all the interests as a normal 3 year old?

Did you know that the magicians Penn and Teller don't believe in the Bible?

How stupid could they be? I guess we'll have to lump them in with the rest of the idiots like Richard Dawkins and Carl Sagan.

I was on youtube and I saw them making fun of the Bible. I couldn't believe it. I never saw anything so disrespectful in my whole life.

Why do people attack Christianity like that? Why do they distort the truth? Sure, Christianity has been used to do bad stuff in the past, but that is only because people can be bad. It's NOT the religion that's bad, it's the SOME of the people who follow it.

Religion does not kill people, people kill people.

Do you agree?

Metaphorically speaking, do you ever feel as though God is crying when it rains?

I sort of believe in God, but I will never admit it. It's like admitting in Santa Claus, and not many people believe in God anymore. People ask me a lot if I believe in God, and I say "no." all the time.

If you KNOW God exists, is there then any use for faith? Can you have faith in God AND know that God exists, or does it have to be one or the other?

By the way, based on the many answers I received to a previous question, the consensus view is that having faith is NOT the same as knowing the truth.

(By the way, when I say "God", I refer to the Judeo-Christian deity, Yahweh.)

I hear this question a lot. My answer would be that if God did then heaven would be just like heaven. God has set a standard, and one has to meet that standard. The bar is low can you jump it?

If Jesus=God, Jesus died for the sins of man=God himself died for the sins of man.

Then Who made Him Alive after His Death.

i think i accidentally sold my soul to the devil. i clicked on one of those banners that says win a free ipod nano. then it took me to this page that said, "for your ipod nano click here to accept the terms and conditions of this agreement". next thing i know, some dude knocks on my door with a brand spankin' new ipod nano and a copy of the terms and conditions i agreed to. sure enough, i signed over my soul to the devil. i'm screwed for sure, unless i can find a good attorney who can find a loophole in the contract, but then that would mean i would have to accept my attorney as my savior, so the devil would win again. dangit, that devil is tricky!!! ok, since the devil already contractually has my soul, is there anyway my believing in jesus can get it back?

Faith is a great thing to have. Believing in something without directly knowing whether or not it is true makes you a better person.

Sure, God could let us know that he exists and which religion is true, but he doesn't do that because it is all part of a test. Also, if God would to let us know he exists for sure, then it would be harder for people to sin and that would make life too easy.

Atheists have faith too. If you drop a ball, you have faith that it will hit the ground. You have faith that the sun will rise. Having faith in God is exactly the same thing.

Do you agree?

Don't you find it odd that you always say "i BELIEVE in god" and you never say "i KNOW god?" Belief is not knowledge, every time you use the word "believe" you are reinforcing the fact that your claims are on shaky ground. It's the same with faith... Faith is not evidence... it's belief in the absence of knowledge or evidenc of something.
