Hi. I was just wondering what the differences between these two religions were and when I say "differences" I mean differences in history, beliefs, myths, etc. Also, what are some common rituals that occur during a Protestant vigil opposed to a Catholic vigil?

Southern Baptist Abuse Cases Garnering More Attention, Warnings

Clergy sex scandals have widely been exposed in the Catholic Church, but recent media attention has gone toward Protestant churches, mainly the Southern Baptist Convention, which some fear may be developing a similar pattern to the Catholic Church.

This is from a Josh Groban song:

"When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be."

Let's tear down the walls we build and raise each other up to be more than we think possible...

Peace, Love, and Blessings,

If you converted to Roman Catholicism, I would be curious to hear the reasons why you did it. And what was your previous denomination?

In your view what should today's list be.
List your chosen seven and add more if you think it justified.

Or, is sin an outdated concept?

Don't most atheists claim to be of the scientific or intellectual type? Its mathematically impossible for the universe as we know it to exist by random occurances, so why do these so-called intellectuals keep denying intelligent design? If its mathematically impossible then HOW did it happen gosh dang it??!?!?! lol

Many of you would like to believe that Muhammad (pbuh) went after a 9 year old girl.
First, let's look at his other marriages. None of them were young except Ayesha. Clearly, it's not a habit of his to go after young girls.

Secondly, many of you don't know anything about Islam.
Many hadiths contradict the Quran and we have to know which is good or not.
If you take the time to read then you will find in the first place that Ayesha's age is nowhere mentioned in the Quran.
That number that everybody likes to quote comes from a hadith, which is not reliable.

I know many of you will shrug this off, but for those who are willing to listen then please do.

Look at this argument that Ayesha was older than 9:

Corinthians 4:14 I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved
sons I warn [you].
4:15 For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ,
yet [have ye] not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have
begotten you through the gospel.
4:16 Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.

I have developed a Weird imagination. I would listen to some songs that are crazy, and is consideresd devil worship by christians. I love the movie "The Exorcist" and since then I have been creating imaginations in my mind of possessions and exorcisms. Everytime i listen to some music i make up characters in my mind that are possessed and exorcised. I havent been to church in years because one of my old church had burned down, and I havent found another church that i can relate to and actually pay attention. I love God and I love Jesus.. I worship Jesus(God) as my savior. I havent read the bible in soooo long either. I am interested in archaeology, mostly demonology. Ever since I did a report on demons I have actually had more of these imaginations. I experience Deja vu alot and very often do i have demon opression, but every time i do have opressions, I call on jesus and I know that he saves me. I love God and Jesus and cherish my believes. Am I a satanist/no longer a christian? Help

Some state that we started from "nothing" and others use the 1st law of thermodynamics stating that energy can neither be created nor destroyed? If they can undestand that energy can neither be created nor destroyed then why not believe in an "always there" god.

Or when they actually speak about no god, do they mean only the christian god? (since everyone always secludes the other religions in here when they say god) because Energy could technically be "God".

afraid of death?

If there was something after death, I would hope it would be reincarnation (I wouldn't mind being a cat!!). But I don't think anything happens after you die. You just die and that's it. No heaven or hell. I am not afraid of death. That's just a part of life. I think too many people think about and worry about the end of their lives. You should enjoy and try to make the best of the life you have now, because you don't know what will happen after you die. Why waste your time enjoying this life? It may be the only one you have!!! Trying to make the afterlife a better place, only takes away the joy of the life you have now. Stop worrying and look at the life right in front of you!!!

I understand the reasoning behind the 'sex before marriage is a sin' view of christians. I was just wondering whther any christians worry about this. Surely sex is a large part of any relationship and should be 'tested' by a couple before marriage to make sure they...erm...'enjoy' each other before taking out a lifetime agreement of marriage.

I must say it is a noble sentiment, that you must marry the one you love 1st, but just think maybe it could cause long-term problems. what do you think?
