afraid of death?
If there was something after death, I would hope it would be reincarnation (I wouldn't mind being a cat!!). But I don't think anything happens after you die. You just die and that's it. No heaven or hell. I am not afraid of death. That's just a part of life. I think too many people think about and worry about the end of their lives. You should enjoy and try to make the best of the life you have now, because you don't know what will happen after you die. Why waste your time enjoying this life? It may be the only one you have!!! Trying to make the afterlife a better place, only takes away the joy of the life you have now. Stop worrying and look at the life right in front of you!!!

I'm just curious. I'm an atheist too, so I won't get offended by any answers, as long as they are not answers bashing atheists. If anyone does not like my questions, then find another question to answer. If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all.

I'm only afraid of the pain of death...not of dying in of itself. And I don't know what happens to us after we die. I pretty much believe that nothing happens, but it would be nice to think there is some sort of nice afterlife (not heaven or hell, mind you). Great question!

My views on death is that it's sad but a natural part of life. I think after death, your body will decay but hopefully your memory will live on. I am afraid of death, but I don't live in constant fear. If I die, I know I would miss out on a lot of things in life, being a mother, being a grandmother, etc, etc. So I'm scared that if I die, I miss big moments in my life and that a lot of people will be sad because of me and I don't wan my loved ones sad.

My view is death is the beginning, we're still baby's trying to learn very basic concepts-trying to be harmonious with our environment, getting along with each other ext.
Once we die we can go to the "big boys table" and become more....not sure there is a word for it, but just become something *more* then human
death to me isn't death, its an achievement! You've lived your life as you chose, learn enough and you can go sit with the big boys, didn't learn the lesson reincarnation would be the case.
Good luck finding anyone to agree with me though..my ideas pretty out there :D

Atheism ability no longer something extra effective than having no perception in a deity. this is each and all of the term ability. this is ALL it has ever meant. So there's no expert "atheist view" on something previous that. some atheists are in choose of the death penalty, some are not.

I think that when I die, that's it. Reincarnation would be nice. heaven would be nice. But having a footrub by Johnny Depp while I bathe in liquid gold would be nice. I can't base what is real on what would be nice :(
I think primarily "why" is because I don't see any evidence that conciousness can exist apart from matter. So I don't think I'll be the exception to that either!
<> nice to meet you!

You die and you are gone. The energy that was your body is given up to the microbes, incests, and animals as energy to maintain their lives. As far as being afraid of death? Not at all. What is there to be afraid of? It is natural. It is inevitable to us all. To me it seems that christians are the ones terribly afraid of death. Why else would they create such a lavish fantasy for their eternal life.

Nothing happens after death. Its the end.
And no, I'm not afraid. Why should I be? I know that I won't be tortured for all eternity because I pissed off my god.

We die. That's it. I'm not scared of it - I just don't want to be in too much pain when I go.
