Since you won't admit that its impossible for the universe to be created from nothing....please explain (or lets make it easy, give one example) WHY it is impossible for an omnipotent being to exist?

It may not be impossible for an omnipotent being to exist, but if one does exist, it is clear that it either doesn't care about us, or it is an evil entity.

When all evil and misery in the world is eliminated, then I'll believe in an omnipotent entity.

Ever heard of particle annihilation? Pair production? Brane theory? Please look them up. It will explain a lot.

Omnipotence is logically impossible, as is easily shown by the 'can god microwave a burrito so hot even he can't eat it' argument shows. And there's no reason to think there's a god out there anyway, but there's plenty of evidence for the universe being created in a singularity.

There is no reason why a omnipotent being can't exist. But for a omnipotent, omniscient, benevolent being to exist in a world with pain and suffering it is impossible. As either this being doesn't know about the suffering, cant do anything about it, doesn't care, any combination of the above or doesn't exist. Either way abramic religion = wrong. Say no to jesus

Because I have the power to write this post, and it couldn't stop me.

I can also prove that it doesn't exist... check it out...

If you are omnipotent, please kill all christians, they keep asking stupid questions.

Are you still there?

Further, I don't think you understand the word omnipotent. It means ALL POWERFUL. That means it has ALL POWER. If anything else has even a little bit of power, then NOTHING has ALL POWER. Do you think there's anything else that has any power?

I do. I just excercised my power to logically prove that omnipotence does not and cannot exist in our universe.

PLEASE STOP WITH THE DISHONEST LYING!!!

First stop with the dishonest straw-men. We are not claiming the universe was created from nothing. Since you persist in lying like the dishonest person you obviously are I will just refer you to my previous answer to your previous question.

When you engage in blatant dishonesty you merely make others think all Christians are dishonest liars which is not true. Its Just people like you who make Christians look bad.

You can't explain the ORIGIN of complexity by postulating a prior greater complexity.

I reject the idea the universe was created from nothing just like I reject the idea it was created by a even more complex god. In fact I reject the idea that anything is truly created. Instead I believe everything is ultimately eternal timeless necessary Mathematics ( necessary logical truth ). The illusion of space-time and mass energy is a selection effect caused by the fact that it is those mathematical structures which are isomorphic to space-time containing mass/energy which can contain self aware observer subsets.

1. We observe the natural law of cause and effect in the universe. The idea of 'God' breaks this law since something would have had to 'cause' God into existence.

2. If God 'cares' about humans he changes according to humans behavior. He is thus a changing and dependent 'god'. So, he has no absolute true nature or existence. If he does not 'care' about humans... well, then he doesn't care about humans and that certainly is not the common theists view, so their God also does not exist.

I don't recall anyone saying it is impossible for an omnipotent being to exist.....it is just impossible for an all-loving, all powerful being to exist.

an omnipotent being per se would not be a logical impossibility, if a very improbable one. An omnipotent being would also be pretty frigging self-evident. Its just your christian one (you know the god from Abraham) who is a complete joke. And most of the others people have invented through the ages.

Anything is possible, that's the beauty of being open minded.

It's a matter of probability, it's not probable that God created the universe.

Your argument is that because the Universe is complex, it requires an even more complex creator. Well, if complexity requires a creator, you just created an infinite upward spiral of complexity. That isn't logical at all.
