you are speaking to my mind now Pangel. That is a wonderful thought. Trying to put a personal experience of the spiritual into language is like using a hammer to carve a mandala. Blessings

Well, Pangel, personally I think most of our differences are about form and language, but at the heart of it all, I think anyone that believes in "God" really believes in the same "God" but just chooses different ways to understand and worship it. It's too bad when people want to get too caught up in form, instead of what's really important, moreso if someone is intent on driving wedges, instead of building bridges.... Hope you are having a lovely day also...
Spiritroaming : Like the tower of Babel, yeah, like that, I think you have a good line on it...

What if all of the good peace loving people stopped listening to hateful spiteful heretics and warmongers and worked together to build peace and alleviate human suffering? What if the whispers you speak of became shouts? I am having a wonderful day and thank you for your kind thoughts. I have a different job than you Pangel but we are trying to produce the same product. Peace be with you.

The Bahai Faith teaches that God revealed himself to all people over the world in different ways through different prophets. You might mean somethin like that. Sikhism as well teaches to respect all religions as all faiths that believe in God leads to heaven. And then Unitarian Universalists believe in a little bit of everything as well. Deism also believes that a person's Earthly behavior and moral value is what's ultimately important.

Nice thought. I think, too, they could have been caused by differences in culture, differences in interpretation. Heck, we see differences in interpretation even when people are from the same culture, same langage. I don't care how many names you give to God...it's the same energy.

It might well be that our different Gods are nothing but different views upon only one God/Pantheon/world spirit etc., that differ form each other just like our views upon the one and only world differ, which difference is reflected in the differences between languages.
different peoples >> different interpretations of the world >> different languages >> even more different interpretations of the world
different peoples >> different interpretations of one god/etc. >> different religions >> even more different interpretations of the god/etc.

A german philosopher once said (my paraphrase) that people live with their world as their language presents it to them. In short, we cannot "see" things until our language allows us to "see" them. I may look at a forest and see a sea of green, but you may look at it and see a world of oak and ash and myrtle, because your language allows you to see it in all its richness. The same is true of God and the universe.

it was once said, that all roads lead to Rome. at that time Rome had 7 roads leading into it, and it was the center of the known world.
is it not possible that many "roads" lead to God, and the center of the universe?
