Isn't gluttony a sin...and if you refuse to exercies and lose weight, then you are not properly taking care of your, "temple of God"..you continue to live in sin...

Fundies always say, if someone refuses to turn from their sin they are going to hell...

So, what about you fat fundies...aren't you going to hell too?

Please don't tell me this is a medical condition...because quite honestly...if gays aren't born that way...neither are fat people...

Fat people choose what they put in their mouth just like gays do.

Some of you just don't get it, do you?

Of course our country is fat in general...but, shouldn't Christians be held to a higher standard? And aren't fat people going to hell if they don't get slim?

I guess that goes for smokers too...they are mistreating their body...

Are you suggesting that some people are self selective in what they interpret to be a sin?

Yes, gluttony is a sin. It is not good for a Christian to be obese, or commit any other sin obvioulsy. A lot of other Christians are blind to this. I sincerely think that most do not realize that God does not want them to live their live is such an unhealthy way. I do not think they connect their over-eating on the same level as being a drunkard.(although both are forms of gluttony). When we accpet forgiveness, we are freed from our sin; however that is not to say that we will never sin again. Repentance is the sign of a true Christian. A Christian my still stumble and live in sin for awhile, but God will convict a person to change, and a Christian would do just that. Repenting, turning away from your sins, does not come easy, and it is something that person my struggle with their entire lives. It may be a "thorn in my flesh" as the apostle Paul says.

Why are americans so fat in general? The reasons for obesity are vast and complex.

But here we go, let's surprise you. You're right. Overeating and gaining weight, living a sedentary lifestyle is absolutely a sin. It is in direct violation of the edict that our bodies are to be holy temple to God. It is also a denial of the power of the Holy Spirit who, if we will just ask, will give us the power to resist all temptation and stay on the straight and narrow. But in the end, God does understand that we are human and if we ask forgiveness,it is granted. And once saved, always saved.

Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone. I guess that rules you out. I myself don't have a weight problem. But I think it's disgusting how people like you have nothing better to do other than put people down, and spend your time looking for different ways in which to do so.Does it make you feel better about your flaws, by pointing out other peoples flaws? I'm sure you have flaws, because everybody does. No body's perfect unless your god. And I don't think you are, cause I doubt god sits on the computer putting people down.

I'm a thin Christian, and I come from a family full of thin Christians. The problem isn't that Christians are obese; it's that people in general are obese. I know a number of obese Wiccans, atheists, and Jews, too. Obesity isn't merely a problem among the Christian population, but among society as a whole.

Although it is true that some and maybe most fat people have made bad decisions which have made them fat, there ARE some people born with conditions that make them that way.
I myself don't judge fat people or gay people, it's not our place to judge.

I agree with Babs, are you with out sin? I am also Christian, and I'm not over weight either, so it looks like your theory is wrong about Christians.
