There have already been many, many accounts unfairly suspended by Yahoo, caused by probably a small group of people who abuse the report abuse button.

One of the regulars in this section decided to try and do something against that. Questions on Y!A come and go very rapidly, so to make it possible for more people to read about and support that cause, as a reminder I am simply posting a link to her question for more details.

I'm asking you all to click on the link and help her in trying to bring this under Yahoo's attention.

guraqt2m: I agree. There are many horrible things posted, that need to be reported. However, I've honestly seen many, many people get deleted, who never used one offensive word. I'm using a new account now, because on my old account I even received mails from people who simply told me it was their goal to eliminate 'people like me' from Y!A. And they even succeed. All it takes is to press the report button.

Good for you! I agree 100%.

In a free society, you have to be a bit thicker-skinned and get used to seeing and hearing things that you don't happen to like.

One way Yahoo could help would be to add an "Ignore" button, so that if you don't like a person's questions or answers, you can just opt out of seeing them in the first place.

Markyyy: Firstly; how do you know that these accounts were "unfairly suspended" ? Some suspensions are quite justified because the terms or conditions of YA have been violated. These terms are set to maintain an order of flow where others are not slandered nor libelled. You have to have accountability and responsibility within ones behaviour or chaos will bloom. What this type of "petition" will accom-plish is YA suspending the YA Answers section because of legal repercussions pending from law suits. People can not just take something he or she does not agree with and crucify the person with his or her mouth or computer (in this case). People calling people horrible names, accusations flying, threats, lies, conjecture, and assumptions - to name a few, can not be tolerated. People, who participate in this type of behaviour should have their accounts suspended ! Remember; there are children on here.

Thanks Markyyy! I just got online and voted. We need to band together. I am tired of intelligent people disappearing, while the knuckleheads go on and on.

PS. You are in the first catagory!
