Contrary to popular belief, this country was not founded by Christians. Look it up, nowhere in the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence, is the word "God" or "Jesus" found. This country was founded by people who believed that people could believe what they wanted. That the religion should stay out of politics and the beliefs (or lack of beliefs) of the president should never effect how he or she runs the nation.

It is clear that the Founding Fathers were secularists. What do you think they would say about today? With religion being at the heart of most conflicts in the world.

If you're at a gas station, and for some strange reason the gas is ignited by a spark, and all the pumps start exploding one by one until the surrounding fence is in flames on three sides, and you are surrounded on three sides by walls of impenetrable flames, and an attendant tries to help you get over fourth fence, should you ask him what his religion is first?

Mummy says its better to burn to death than owe your life to a non-Catholic. Far be it from me to question her, but I just wondered if anyone else agrees.

With love in Christ.

The Bible is never wrong, if we think it contradicts something it is us who are wrong either in our understanding of God's Holy Word or in whatever it is we think contradicts it. It's like if you thought it was impossible for lead to be turned into gold and a book said it could, you'd say the book is wrong. Well, guess what? The Bible says that with Him, all things are possible, and to prove it: lead CAN and HAS been turned into gold. It happens in nuclear reactors sometimes from the sub atomic bombardment of the lead shielding. Just look it up.

Scientist have estimated that when the sun was larger, and hotter, it was shrinking by as much as 15-20 ft. per hour. At that rate, the sun would have been touching the earth around 20 million years ago.

Doesn't that prove that the earth isn't billions of years old, and is just 6,000 years old, like it says in the Bible?

I was raised Catholic. Went to Catholic school for 8 years. Church every Sunday. Sacraments up thru Confirmation so far. However I never go to church. Not even on the holidays because then it's only being done because it's a holiday. The mass is always the same, it's really not uplifting. Outside of that I believe in God and practice the 10 commandments(as best I can) but I cannot sit thru those services and haven't been able to for several years now. I don't consider myself a sinner for this. Maybe for other things but not for this. What are you're opinions. No response necessary if it's to bash Catholics because honestly I could care less what religion you are or what you think of ours.

if we discovered life on a new planet and visited them and made contact with them and they did not have christianity or a form of believing in one god and his son comming down and all that wouldnt it prove that god is not real becasue he would make himself know to that planet to and if they had any religion on that planet that we had here it would prove it was the right religion. Also how come it took so long for god to be written about and believed in. at one time there was no one god every ine believed in the sun being a glowing person that created them and made life and they believed in several gods at once and every culture had its own gods.

DO U BELIVE IN SOMETING U CAN NOT SEE?
i right now did not exist to any of u until u seen my words on ur screen, we never exisited to each other until now, we lived years on the same planet and done the same things (eat, sleep, learn and grow) but again we dont exsit, until were connected, in real, by computer or phone, i hope u get what im saying, i been on this earth for 38 years and thousands to millions of people are here now and to me, they dont exisit, until we make the connection, there on the other side of the world, but the're only real to those who can see them or know them, but to me there not real, they are real only to a thought ,as yes theres millions on the earth, but unitl i feel there heart, there soul, then they aree real. u dont see ur voice, but u hear it, u dont see ur breath, but u feel it, nor u see my pain, but its truley real, same goes with god, u dont have to see him to believe,, hes real, and hes love, and u have seen him by feeling him inside you.

"Shaping" can include active and passive pursuits (such as voting for a legislator who intrudes into the personal lives of others)

Have you guys ever watched I Heart Huckabees? They explained the "blanket theory"- using a blanket, they point out that if you think of the blanket as the Universe, one person is here, another is there, and Earthquake is there, a war is over there, someone is dying over there, someone is celebrating a birthday there (pointing to different parts of the blanket) that they are all part of the same blanket.

I'm not saying the Christian God isn't a part of God. But maybe it's just one face. Over there on the other side of God, people see a different perspective of the same thing. If you look at them seperately, they may appear to have many dissimilarities, but if you zoom out you'll realize they are the same.

I realise this will probably get reported for some reason but until then I want to pray for you, and I need prayer also.
I feel like I am deep in the widerness alone. I am not being used at church, I cannot find a decent job. I am having a hard time even in prayer. I know this is a time of growth in God, but I feel so uterly helpless. It seems all I want to do is cry. I cannot sleep, only 2 or 3 hours a night. When I read my Bible I cannot stay awake but I only dose for a couple minutes. Please pray!!!!!!!!!!

Only people that want to help PLEASE!!!!!!

Call this a simple "thought experiment". Lets say there is no God and that we don't get our morals and ethics from the Bible or from God. AND, there was no reward for good deeds or punishment for bad deeds, in the eyes of God.

How would you then act, lawless or composed?

.....when so many are also unwilling to make procreation a legal requirement of marriage?

If we aren't willing to hold heterosexuals to this standard, why hold homosexuals to it? Honestly, why?

(P.S. This is being asked in the R&S section because I want responses to be from this particular crowd.)

After all, how many people of any culture would try to do so much to degrade and shame black people. He gets on television to say "he wasn't gloating" well he shouldn't be he did nothing posititve. as usual rev al is just mocking all black people by making all his "stands" on controversial issues to create hatred.

I don't necessarily want a debate. I just honestly don't understand how anyone can read that and not believe that the Holy Eucharist (Communion) is really the true Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus. I've never heard that verse explained by other Christians.

51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world."
52 The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying, "How can this man give us (his) flesh to eat?"
53 Jesus said to them, "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you.
54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day.
55 For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.
56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him.
