The Bible is never wrong, if we think it contradicts something it is us who are wrong either in our understanding of God's Holy Word or in whatever it is we think contradicts it. It's like if you thought it was impossible for lead to be turned into gold and a book said it could, you'd say the book is wrong. Well, guess what? The Bible says that with Him, all things are possible, and to prove it: lead CAN and HAS been turned into gold. It happens in nuclear reactors sometimes from the sub atomic bombardment of the lead shielding. Just look it up.

Preach it!!!

And someday we will understand with our puny human minds that the bible was right. Bats really are birds. Rabbits have cuds, just like the bible says. They're just very sneaky rabbits and hide their cuds in clever places.

Which Bible in particular?
-------
The contradictions usually arise due to a poor interpretation of the Bible. But if you really study it, there are none. From what Ive seen from some people here whether you are a Catholic, Baptist, Presbyterian, Mormon, Atheist, etc. many conflicts arise because people cannot grasp the meaning of the Bible correctly or interpret the text without taking into consideration that the English version of the Bible is a translation of the original which obviously wasn't in English.

Creation for example, was done in 6 days according to the Bible. But of course, we know now, that 6 days is too short for our universe and life to form. In reality, 6 days should not be taken literally. If we take into account thethe enormous gravitational force of the very compact and dense universe, our universe is about 16-18billion years old. 6 days is not a contradiction because converting this to universe-time (passage of time for a super compact universe) then our universe is 6 days old (!!) in that sense.

Also the Bible accurately depicts Roman and Egyptian life and the Israeli environment with references to locations as well. Historical figures are depicted accurately as well.

i could say there's a distinction between understanding the content fabric of the bible and information it. truly information the bible is the artwork of a life-time a minimum of. Why could any atheist make investments that plenty time and attempt thinking some thing they have not got faith? i've got met atheists who comprehend the bible extra suitable than a marvelous form of Christians do. i'm no longer able to easily say i've got met any who comprehend it extra suitable than I do. i'm no longer saying there are no; in simple terms that i've got no longer yet met one.

I agree. The Bible is never wrong.

And for those who posted the bird/bat example, once again it is humans who are in error. The Hebrew word many Bibles translate as "bird" should actually be rendered "flying creature." Surely you're not going to deny that bats are flying creatures? It was the translators who were in error, certainly not God.

Leviticus 11:13-18 "And these are what YOU will loathe among the flying creatures. They should not be eaten. They are a loathsome thing: the eagle and the osprey and the black vulture, and the red kite and the black kite according to its kind, and every raven according to its kind, and the ostrich and the owl and the gull and the falcon according to its kind, and the little owl and the cormorant and the long-eared owl, and the swan and the pelican and the vulture, and the stork, the heron according to its kind, and the hoopoe and the bat. "

OK, you're a Christian - fine. You believe the bible is all fact and that any contradictions are the reader's fault - I'll let that one go for the sake of this argument.

Say I just introduced you to someone who says his name is Bob. You say "no, I know this person and his name is Fred". I say "you're wrong, he's Bob because he says he's Bob"

Maybe Fred's just pulling your leg. The point is you need an independent verifiable source if you're going to use it as proof.

You cannot use the word of the bible to prove that the bible is valid, that just doesn't hold water.

The bible cannot not prove itself - whichc is what most Christians do.

And by the way - Paul taught that no man can uphold the Law. Flip over to Luke 1 and read about John the Baptist's parents. Paul and Luke cannot both be right at the same time.

Judas died to different deaths in the NT. How can a man die twice?

The actual OT verses that Paul quotes do not match what he wrote. They cannot both be right.

These are problems - which point to the fact that there is untruth somewhere.

Bible was written by men and therefore it is not perfect.
Since when is it that if you something in bible is contradicting it self then we don't understand it? I mean If the whole world literature professors and teachers and priest and even the pope don't understand it then god must not want us to believe it I mean after all why would you believe in something you don't understand? If the book had right sources and stuff used in it then the book would not be wrong. it could be out dated but thats why new books are written to explain the old ones but in bible's case its suppose to be god's word and its suppose to apply to every time and every place.... then every thing in it should make perfect sense with out any difficulties.

You will be totally correct if....God (by Himself) wrote the entire Bible. However, it is quite obvious that men wrote it, so whatever you try to use to support your claim will be invalid as...man is imperfect and corrupt. By the way, the transformation of metals could have been done by mere slight of hand. If David Copperfield were alive during biblical times, he would have been regarded as a god.

Prove it.

Or I will prove that some of the Bible is false:

Evolution disproves the literal interpretation of the Garden of Eden and 6-day Creationism.

Astronomy disproves the modern fundamentalist idea that the universe is 6,000 years old:

The figure of Jesus was likely based on earlier Pagan hero myths (trickier but plausible):

Will you read these links? Probably not.

Do you have enough faith in your religion to evaluate contradictory evidence without prejudice?

What about the mistranslations that are still being found? Is it possible for god to just kill himself? Can god microwave a burrito so hot that he himself cannot eat it?

Also what part did God play exactly in turning lead to gold?

Any rational person can read the Bible and see that it's riddled with contradictions. The Bible can't stand up to itself and it surely can't stand up to reality.
