In Matthew 24, Jesus said there would be 'wars and reports of wars, but the end was not yet' (This, speaking of wars that happened in the time following his. Historically speaking, these were one army against another army and they would battle until someone lost.) Jesus goes on: "For, nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom" - (this is a different kind of war. This is a war that involves many nations (WWI was the first time the world saw "nation rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom")
Jesus goes on to say that following this, there would be:
- food shortages;
-earthquakes in one place after another and these things would be "a beginning of pangs of distress";
-People who truly represent Jesus would be persecuted- "objects of hatred by all the nations on account of my name";
-"because of the increasing of lawlessness the love of the greater number will cool off.";
-"this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come."
2Timothy3 says that "in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power;
Revelation 11:18 also indicates that at the time of the end, humans would be ruining the earth. It says God will "bring to ruin those ruining the earth"
I think that is all happening now- don't you?

You're standing in the Action/Adventure section of Blockbuster. You begin with the "A's". Trust me, Armageddon will be very near at that time.

End Times - In the Words of Jesus Himself
The End Times: You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. (Matthew 24:6-8; Mark 13:7-8 NIV).
Then he said to them: "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven." (Luke 21:10-11 NIV).

Armageddon isn't very near if you are in America. Why? Because Armageddon is a place, not a time. Armageddon, or Har-Megiddo(the Mountain of Megiddo) is in Israel.

people started to developed religion to explain what they could not understand. what makes christianantiy better or different than any other relgion that has existed. i bet that if you went back in time and told the greeks that there was no Zues or Poseidon they would think you were crazy. All relgions will eventually come to an end. i would just think that by now as smart as we are that religion whould be extinct. science is the only. people just cant come to terms that there is no after life. religion is dump

Since Christ hasn't returned to set up His millennium Kingdom, Armageddon is at least a 1,000 years away.
