We also have books titled: What does the Bible Really Teach? Which focuses on the sometimes confusing bible teachings. Another is Mankind's Search for God which tackles different religions around the world. Please contact a Jehovah's witness near you if youd like a copy or simply email me. Tc!

OMG firstly the only religion that goes by the bible is Christianity so that sort of narrows it down for you doesn't it. If you mean which Christian Denomination follows the bible more closely it is Orthodox. This is because it is the oldest denomination, and the church mass actually follows what the apostles told us to do. It has no changed in 2000 years, and still follows the old ways. No matter which Orthodox church you walk into the mass is always the same. So that should tell you which is the closest to what is meant to be done.

I don't know if you are looking for Christian.

I would vote Judaism. If you have questions wander over to http://www.jewsforjudaism.org or http://www.jewfaq.org

The Jews uphold the Tanakh every day of their lives.

I have yet to see a Christian church do this.

And don't go for Pentacostel. They take the whole speaking in tongues thing (among over rating other gifts of the Holy Spirit) out of context. Nor where does it say that tongues is speaking in gibberish. It is to be used to preach the gospel to those of another language. And a lot of Pentacostels believe that you are not a true believer unless you can speak in tongues.

If you want a Christian religion - go with Catholicism. They have both the bible and the rich traditions of the early church. For info on Catholicism go to http://www.newadvent.com

The way to answer this question for your self is to learn what the bible teaches by studying it for yourself. Then compare what religious groups teach with what you know is in the bible.

If something does not seem to match up, with a particular religion, ask someone of that religion to help you understand from the bible why it teaches this way or that way... If you can't get satisfying answers, move on to another one.

I had a hard time looking for a church to go to. I really couldn't decide which, there were so many and since everyone said that theirs was the best, I was confused. I knelt beside my bed and pray to God asking Him to lead and direct me to a Church that has real people, who are not perfect and have faults like myself - ordinary people, that is. I prayed for some time and one day I was walking by this Church, and heard a voice said to me "this is the Church you should attend" I did not go that night, because I wanted to be sure, but after the third time, I went in one day and that was it. They were real, loving people, who really loved tthe Lord and the community. I enjoyed fellowshipping with them. It was a Pentecostal Church. You should ask God's direction on this situation, and let Him lead you. It might not be a Pentecostal Church, but where ever He leads, I know you wouldl be blessed.

I'd have to go with Catholics. Since most Protestant religions threw out several books of the Bible, they can't qualify.

On the other hand, a case could be made for orthodox Jews and Mormons -- even though their definition of what the Bible is varies from most Christians.

I don't think that you can say who is most reverent to the Bible - where people are concerned you'll find many variations of reverence with in different sects. My advice to you is to visit a lot of different churches, ask questions where you feel comfortable, and don't be afraid to contact clergy members and ask for them to meet with you and speak with you about your questions. Keep away from those who have all the "answers" and who try to tell you that if you don't believe what they believe, then you are going to hell... Jesus said that you should love the Lord your God with all of your heart, mind, and soul, and [in doing so] you shall love your neighbor as yourself.

" The Be·roe′ans were noble-minded, for they received the word with the greatest eagerness of mind, carefully examining the Scriptures daily as to whether these things were so." Acts 17:10,11

"All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work." -- 2 Timothy 3:16,17

"All the things that were written aforetime were written for our instruction, that through our endurance and through the comfort from the Scriptures we might have hope." -- Romans 15:4

I agree with "Val W", and here are links to a Scripture-based online brochure that you can use to help you in your search:

How Can You Find the True Religion? :
1 Are all religions pleasing to God, or is just one?
2 Why are there so many religions that claim to be Christian?
3 How can you identify true Christians?

It is full of Scripture-reference-links, making it a breeze to compare what it says with God's Word.

I am a member of the Lord's church, the church of Christ. We go strictly by the Bible. We speak where the Bible speaks, we are silent where the Bible is silent. We have to national/international headquarters, it is in Heaven for Jesus Christ is the head of the church. Jesus Christ has sole authority in the church. Please check out what we believe in, at the web site below. God Bless!!

Nearly all denominations will respond with a "we do".It is up to you to examine the scriptures and make a search for yourself.
These points may be of some assistance to you:
1.If you want to be a friend of God,you must practice the religion that God approves - Jesus said that "the true worshipers"would worship God in harmony with "truth"(John4:23,24).
There is only one correct way to worship God(Eph.4:4-6).
True religion leads to everlasting life, and false religion leads to destruction (Matt.7:13,14)
2.You can recognize true religion by watching the persons who practice it-
Since Jehovah is good those who are his true worshipers must be good people. Just as a good orange tree produces fine oranges, the true religion produces fine people.(Matt.7:15-20)
3.Jehovah's friends have deep respect for the Bible-they know that the Bible is from God.They allow what is says to guide their lives,to solve their problems, and to help them learn about God(2Tim.3:16).They try to practice what they preach.
4. Jehovah's friends show love for one another-Jesus showed love for people by teaching them about God,by curing those who were sick. Those who practice true religion also show love to others.Like Jesus, they do not look down on those who are poor or are of a different ethnic group.Jesus said that people would know his disciples by the love they show for one another.(John13:35).
5.God's friends honour God's name,Jehovah-If someone refused to use your name, would that person be your close friend? No!When we have a friend,we use his name and say good things about that friend to others. So those who wish to be God's friends should use his name and talk about him to others.Jehovah wants us to do that.(Mat.6:9;Romans10:13,14).
6.Like Jesus,God's friends teach people about God's kingdom - God's kingdom is a heavenly government that will make the earth a paradise.God's friends share this good news about God's kingdom with others.(Matt.24:14).
7.Jehovah's Witnesses try to be friends of God- They respect the Bible and have love among themselves. They also use and honor God's name and teach others about God's kingdom.Jehovah's Witnesses practice the true religion on earth today.
