Actual Christian churches. I would totally go to church if we could toke up before the sermon. Imagine what it must be like!

As Arabian history clearly tells..... Hagar and Ishmael NEVER left the desert of Paran (Arabia) after being sent there when Ishmael was a baby. Therefore the Judaic story of Sarah ordering Ishmael and his mother out has been fabricated. The truth of the matter is that the Arabs are the descendants of Abrahams' first born. We can see from History that God gave them the Holy Land 1400 years ago and blessed them with an Empire that lasted for over a 1000 years. Even to this day Islam is the fastest growing faith in Europe and America. I would say the Muslims got the Lions share of blessings in comparison with their cousins (Jews) who have been hunted down and slaughtered by the Christians for the past 2,000 years. Through the first son of Abraham , God sent down the final Prophet with the complete code of life and LAW for all of mankind. That is why Jesus foretold of a "comforter" who would come later. Jesus was the Last Israelite Prophet and Mohammed was the Last Semitic Prophet.

And, what does that say about being "saved". If one is truly saved would not he/she feel compelled to not sin ever again? Yet, we are told we are constantly forgiven...is that not a man made statement of allowance? Does salvation truly come down to just speaking the right words about letting Jesus into your heart and being your savior?

For the purposes of this question only, I'd like to establish two groups: those who believe in one or more God(s), and those who don't believe in one or more God(s). Also, in the interests of clarity, I'm going to use singular forms ("God") throughout - I mean no disrespect by this.

Right, so, "Believers" - consider the two following possible responses to questions:
1) I don't believe in God
2) God doesn't exist

"Non-Believers", these are your possible responses:
3) I believe in God
4) God is real, s/he exists

So everybody, do you react differently to the different statements? Would you rather hear one or the other come from the "other side"? Is either more confronting, more common, more offensive, amusing, likely to make you listen to/respect the speaker, or anything else?

Just interested, no ulterior motive, although I do have some hypothoses...

Thanks, hope this isn't too awkwardly expressed (harder than it looks!)

It seems to me, because of the extensive use of Pascal's Wager, that many people convert to Christianity out of fear- fear of Hell, fear of being a lost sinner, fear of not having a purpose, fear of not being able to kick an addiction, etc.

Is this healthy when this happens? I know not all Christians become Christians this way; I am only refering to these instances.

I'm exploring what I believe right now and it feels wonderful to find truths on my own. If I accepted any religion out of fear it just wouldn't have the same spiritual affect to me, but I'd like to hear your opinions.

Yet, it seems, (just glancing through) that Jehovah's Witnesses provide scriptural refernces in their answers more frequently than those claiming to be Christian. And, although there is no shortage of people who are willing to tell you what they think is in the bible, who, other than the Witnesses consistantly back up what they say with chapter and verse?

I love all types of music with a tune, jingle to it or a story, good lyrics...
Christian and Gospel, Hymmes, Praise, Worship .... are my favourites now.

Country brings up too much emotion and focus on (me) my past! Yet I still love and sing 'em now and then.

Though I have many,

My favourite is a song by Chris Tomlin;
*'How great is our God'*
****************************

There is an anointing upon that song*

If you found something that felt more "right" then your religion, would you convert? Why or why not?

Also, if you would not convert, are you okay with others practicing other religions than your own?

Some of you post bible quotations, which you either memorized like a parrot or copied from some website. Do you think I, or anyone else as a matter of fact, read them? I ask a question regarding the rationality of there being a God and you come a preach Jesus. I dont understand. I wanted a rational argument, not an excerpt from a controversial book?

To be clear, I am not talking about the people how champion the thoeries on both sides but the theories themselves. Also I am not even going to try and get into the "How Did It Start" debate so don't mention it.

I am asking, Can Creation (the theory that all was crated by a single deity)
and Evolution (the theory that animals through differing processes evolve into different species to suit thier enviroment or die out)
co-exsit or are they in total oposition to each other and can never be united?

Serious answers only!!!

Thanks.

I don't know about you but I am must critical to people who say they are Christians but twist the word of God around.

We're always giving Mormons and JW's a hard time....which we probably have no right in doing, but in doing so do think we reaffirm their faith? I mean Jesus did say people would hate us. Can they take our answers and question disagreeing with their faith to mean they are in the right with God? Your opinions please. O by the way...do I claim to be better? No, just forgiven
