Curious. I knew of Churches where ayahuasca and peyote are used, but not marijuana.
But then that's not surprising. I seem to remember that Alexander Shulgin found some very interesting things happened as a result of taking MDMA, along the lines of shamanistic experiences.
I also seem to remember a report on the 'youth' of the União do Vegetal Church which showed that they were much less likely to abuse alcohol and were better behaved socially than their non hoasca using peers.
And all the Catholics offer is some sweet wine and a biscuit ......

I guess it isn't surprising. I don't view drug or alcohol use as anything immoral in itself.
The real question that needs to be asked is why someone would feel the desire to induce a mentally altered state upon them self. I think that if you think you are having a good time when you are stoned/drunk that it is really just pointing to the fact a temporary removal of having to deal with the real things that are making you unhappy is really what is going on.
You can't avoid facing the truth of unhappiness forever. Well... I guess you can, but that really isn't the way to go about life.
It's not like drugs are bad or evil, just that the habitual reliance on the altered state that is provided is false happiness and most likely some kind of deep seated avoidance.

Well I think it would be amazingly interesting to explore them... those souls at least understand there is something just not quite right with the world. They may prefer to chase the secret of life with thoughts that open the thoughts of others while explaining the nature of what just happened in the now. How observing the "now" of each relationship as it effects your person brings with it incredible power to unlock the truth of wisdom in having pure love live inside, being you, you being it knowing you and expanding out of you into your skin, eyes and hair. But then if you don't experience happness you definitely should not listen to me.

Have you ever heard of a/the rastafarians, i.e. dreadlocks, morals, cultural values, and a belief in the father, holy ghost, etc. Oh, and marijuana...it is a natural plant and actually the product, hemp is what George Washington and Thomas Jeffersons wealth came from.

That is the devils weed. And Happy Girl...you are sinning
when u smoke that. Not only are u harming your body, by
way of losing brain cells, which will negatively afffect your
memory....I will promise you...you wont be as happy later on.
Pot makes u depressed after u smoke it to many years. It
also changes the chemicals in your brain, permanently. I
know this for a FACT. I used it for many years....and it did
alot of damage that is unseen. But I know the after affects.
Also, my ex-brother in law, was addicted to pot, so bad that
he was very mean when he wasn't "high". Only when he
smoked , was he "normal"....or rather much nicer a person.
It is very psychologically addictive. And later on, it changes
a persons personality,....you stop caring about your appearance, get lazy. It's a DRUG. You should never take
any DRUGS,...unless a doctor gives u perscriptions. And
some of those can be addictive as u well know. But, they
should be carefully monitered also. I hope u don't have to
learn the hard way in this life.......that what you are doing is
wrong, and very dangerous.....since the people you buy it
from can be violent, they don't care about you, they just want
your money.

I have never heard of an actual Christian believing in such a thing. If (and I say if) they did, They are very misguided. They evidently, are not a Bible based religion. For some, toking up is a personal, human, pleasing thing. It is not God pleasing or God honoring. They would be honoring and trying to please themselves, and not God. That is less than what Church is for..

In most of them you would probably have to become a full-blooded American Indian to participate legally.
Others are likely to go to jail. One tribe from Northern Mexico celebrates its religion with the taking of peyote, which is a hallucinogenic drug.
