I don't know about you but I am must critical to people who say they are Christians but twist the word of God around.
We're always giving Mormons and JW's a hard time....which we probably have no right in doing, but in doing so do think we reaffirm their faith? I mean Jesus did say people would hate us. Can they take our answers and question disagreeing with their faith to mean they are in the right with God? Your opinions please. O by the way...do I claim to be better? No, just forgiven

I think we do have a right to give mormons and JWs a hard time...its not to give them a hard time, it's to save them from hell, from living a lie, from being under the power of brainwashing. Mormons aren't even allowed to read anti-mormon literature. I don't know about you, but my God said the most important comandment was to love your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind.
And, sadly, I think you're right. I know mormons use the fact that they are hated and "persecuted" to prove that they're right and in the right religion. it totally bums me out because i feel like no matter what i do or say, some mormons can never be persuaded. I'm glad God is in control cuz i know i could never handle all the stuff God has to. But yeah, i think you're right, sadly.

Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses are very different. The more I hear people talking ignorantly about Jehovah's Witnesses, the more sympathetic I feel. I was raised as one, and I just left 1 1/2 years ago because of doctrinal issues. I lost the faith, then revived it myself due to going back to the Bible and studying for myself. I have reaffirmed most of what I originally believed, simply because I was the one who believed it. I often heard people in the religion say things that seemed totally unChristian and they seemed to be given prominence in the congregation for a while, but it doesn't last. It's the same in every congregation of Christians, I would assume.
I suppose I have a mental block against Mormons. I met two on the street recently and accepted a book of Mormon. I can't make head nor tail out of it, except that it seems to be demonic. It's supposedly the South American version, but honestly, there's only one Jesus. It's possibly the same way with others looking from the outside into JWs. It's not that their teaching is correct. It's just that they are completely 100% Bible based in their stated beliefs, so that if there is a discrepancy, a sincere person can always look at the Bible. I have had Christian influence in my life from various sources and this has also had a big influence on me. I have resurrected my feelings about these other sources more recently.
I know from personal experience that you can pray as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and receive personal strength and solutions, although I think all experiences of healing through prayer were when I was not affiliated with any church, but just studying the Bible full-time. Jehovah's Witnesses are Christian and are possibly turned off the rest of Christianity precisely because of ignorance. There's a lot of it around.

I don't want to follow doctrines at all, I question doctrines.
I am critical of doctrines because doctrines lead people astray from the word of God. I don't believe in going to church because what they teach makes no sense to me. I read the Bible doctrines twists the Bible. Religion does not twist the Bible doctrine twists the Bible and the word of God. If you want truth study the Bible.
Don't just study the New Testament the old Testament still counts. You don't want to study half of the truth you want to study the whole truth, so that you are armed with the sword of God. Jesus when he was tempted by Satan he used scripture to put him in place.
Not all churches are good, there are way to many negatives about the Catholic church, the Mormons and the J.W's. So you see that had to have been led astray some where.

I am not anti anything. I am pro Jesus.
I do not partake in anything that creates division in the body of Christ. If LDS and JW are preaching a different Jesus then it will pan out in the the final wash. The Holy Spirit is very capable of leading people who seek Jesus to the truth.
Jam 5:9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.

hold up i read the question wrong, i thought you were saying how it is un fair that we give them a hard time!! people have different beliefs, and i think anyone that truly believes something, no matter how wrong i find it, should be left alone
i agree with you, and i work with a jw. regardless of what others may say about her beliefs she stands firm. which is what she is supposed to do. i give credit to those that have a back bone and can stand up for what they believe in. but i do have one tiny problem with a few kinds of Christians, i hate the ones that shove religion down your throat, and a lot of jw seem to do that.

Are you looking for an answer or just someone to agree with you?
Firstly the Bible isn't the word of God, it's the words of a collection of story tellers about God, his son and a whole heap of stuff which happened long before Christianity existed. It was designed to give people in difficult places in their lives hope and a guide to finding inner harmony in the face of adversity.
Jesus would be sick if he saw modern organised religion of any kind so we're all guilty of turning up. Take your Bible and your faith and leave your churches. If God is inside you, you will only find him by following your own path, alone with Him. I did.

"We're always giving Mormons and JW's a hard time....which we probably have no right in doing, "
I disagree, a Christian has every right and in fact has an obligation to spread His truth. The word of God stands on its own. How can conflict with His word be right with God? A true Christian is to root out evil where ever it is, especially in a sect that leans on calling themselves Christian and are not.
Most of the world hates true Christians. That is evident even in the U.S.

The Bible says that we should have no tolerance for false religion and shouldn't even say their God's name with our mouths. So we must refute their claims. If it solidifies their beliefs then that is their problem. We are supposed to spread the word. there are many that dont believe because they do not know the good news of Jesus Christ. Those are the people that we need to seek out and spend our time on.

Who am I that a King would bleed and die for, who am I that he would say, "Not my will thine for"?
The answer I may never know, is why he ever loved me so, but to an old rugged Cross would go for who am I.

Many believer's faith is reaffirmed with "persecution". That' s part of the chosen drama.
