if we discovered life on a new planet and visited them and made contact with them and they did not have christianity or a form of believing in one god and his son comming down and all that wouldnt it prove that god is not real becasue he would make himself know to that planet to and if they had any religion on that planet that we had here it would prove it was the right religion. Also how come it took so long for god to be written about and believed in. at one time there was no one god every ine believed in the sun being a glowing person that created them and made life and they believed in several gods at once and every culture had its own gods.

We find signs of worship all the way back to Neanderthal, maybe further, who knows, perhaps even other animals can understand the concept.

I think the main flaw in this argument is that ignorance of a thing by others does not nullify its existence. Just because we don't know of the planet in question doesn't prove it's not out there. In reality, one could argue that the mere existence of another planet with intelligent life strengthens the argument that there is some divine process in play in the universe.

And remember, even the modern faiths are polytheistic. God, Jesus, Satan, Mary, Saints, Angels, even Prophets. In any other religious contexts they would be performing the same function as Gods, Goddesses, demi-gods, spirits, etc...

Jesus Christ forms much of the base of Christianity if they did not have him then they might have an equivalent to Martin Luther king , Nelson Mandela, or some one else to stand up for their rights. they might even think of humans a fairy tales and read bedtime stories about humans to their children even if they were to encounter us they might deny our existence in spite of the desire to find intelligent lifeforms . they might not recognize us as intelligent as we might not look like them. the same could happen with us. so they might refuse to see our entire civilization and completely ignore God , Christ and all belief structures including democracy whatever. they might claim that people that walk upright and have ears like ours do not exist and say things like i stopped believing in humans when i was 5 years old in their language if we were to encounter them some of the things that could be said are of course we know giant squids do not exist on land and we would sit next to each other on the home planet of the new lifeforms and deny the existence of each other.they could be asking the same question and have God as well . since there is room for God in the universe God and all the Gods are mirror images of each other and so would be the same wherever they are so even if they had no religion it would not matter as God knows of them so no one need use force to introduce them to God as has been done here where it was not necessary either if the thought someone might worries you set your mind at rest none of that will be allowed to happen again as by now people know better than to think that God needs them to use force to help such a powerfull being

You need not to go elsewhere in the galaxy. There is country in Europe who most religious countries call them pagan and yet they are found to be the most peaceful and joyful people on earth. It does not prove religion to be wrong but it proves that religion is not the reason for humans to live harmoniously and peacefully.

I think that if we came across another form of inteligent life, we may find that they have the same issues with religion that we do. Even they may be struggling with the existence of god and the meaning of life the same way we do.

Then since they were found, it becomes religious people duty to force crap down their throats, so that they see the light(and therefore be saved, or something or another).

You see, the fact that they were found, means that god is working so that they may be brought to the path of faith. LMFAO

What would it prove to you if these new creatures did believe in God? Knut has a wise point, one way or another, it would only tell us about their culture, not our own.

I saw that in Knut's comment. I hope I was correct and presented it properly.

if ifs were fifths we would all be drunk. if you try with your physical mind to understand spiritual things you will be further from the truth in direct proportion to the energy you expend in pursuit of said truth
