If you're at a gas station, and for some strange reason the gas is ignited by a spark, and all the pumps start exploding one by one until the surrounding fence is in flames on three sides, and you are surrounded on three sides by walls of impenetrable flames, and an attendant tries to help you get over fourth fence, should you ask him what his religion is first?

Mummy says its better to burn to death than owe your life to a non-Catholic. Far be it from me to question her, but I just wondered if anyone else agrees.

With love in Christ.

So long as they save me, I wouldn't care if they were a Scientologist.

This Catholic respects people of all beliefs, flaming gas pumps notwithstanding. Your theoretical situation of burning to death rather than accepting help from a non-Catholic pretty much highlights what's wrong with religious fanaticism.

Frankly, I hope the attendant is a Fundamentalist when your gas pump goes up in flames and HE asks YOU your religion before he saves you and then pushes you back into the flames once he finds out you're Catholic.

Yours in Christ.

Pastor Billy says: why don't you grow up and stop impersonating iamcatholic. If you can't make any defence against the claims and answers of the real iamcatholic why resort to slander, misinformation and character assassination?
if you do claim to be Christian you must belong to the Church of One

I wouldn't care what religion the attendant is for as long as he would save me from dying from the fire and he seems like a good person. I'm Catholic too.

"No greater love has a man than this: to lay down his life for another."

All people are sons and daughters of God, and we all should love one another, watch out for each other, and pull each other out of the flames if we want to call ourselves children of God. It is obvious you have a lot of anti-Catholic, but know that you are in my prayers since both of us are on the same road, struggling toward heaven.

God bless.

Sounds like Mummy is a little bit prejudice against other denominations.

no i don't agree. Isn't your mom a christian. Hasn't she heard the saying What Would Jesus Do? if ever in doubt ask yourself that. Maybe you are to be saved by that person for a bigger reason. maybe you are to show that person the way to Jesus. My brother in law is a Catholic priest and he would never advise someone in that manner. tell your mom to talk to her priest about that statement. shame on being so prejudice.

God will not let you burn to your death.
He gives you help in many forms, be it a Christian or non Christian.
If your mommy denies help, meaning that she is giving up on her life. which is a sin by the way.
