The Scandinavian's believed that the number 13 was unlucky due to the mythological 12 demigods being joined by a 13th, an evil one, who brought misfortune upon humans. It was also said that Christ was crucified on Friday and the number of guests at the party of the Last Supper was 13, with the 13th guest being Judas, the traitor.

I couldn't tell you why people stay at home, but for several years that there has been a Friday the 13th I personally have had good luck. In fact even though it has not come yet, again tomorrow (the 13th) I will have good luck, because at work finally after two and a half months I have finally gotten the transfer that I requested. Also the black cat thing, and walking under a ladder, I believe are all old wives tales as I have done them & happen to have good luck everytime.

13 has long been a number that is sacred to Witches and Pagans, since a woman has 13 menstrual cycles in a year and there are 13 full moons in a year. These things are representative of the Divine Feminine or the Goddess and her worship. Friday is the only day of the week that is named after a Goddess. Saturday=Saturn's Day, Sunday= Sun Day, Monday=Moon day, Tuesday=Tiw's Day, Wednesday=Woden's Day, Thursday=Thor's Day, Friday=Freya's Day.

The bible and all Abrahamic religions are misogynistic to their cores. To devalue womanhood has been a primary issue. Worship of the Goddess is absolutely forbidden. Fridays were holy days to women and to the Goddess. They needed to "demonize" the enemy by instilling fear.......their usual tactic, as we have daily evidence.

Some say that it traces back to the fact that Friday 13 was the day that the king of France lured the leaders of the Knights Templar to France and then had them arrested and their order was declared illegal.

It was supposedly on a Friday the 13th when the Knights Templar were gathered up in a surprise attack ordered by a "bad" Pope and financially strapped king of France. They wanted the wealth and property the Knights had amassed. The Knights were tortured and forced to admit to heresy and other Catholic violations. They were stripped of their land holdings and many were murdered. All in the name of Christ?

There were 13 people around the table of the Last Supper, and one of them was going to die.
That person died on a friday.

Enough?

It is all in the perception, I have always been extremely blessed on this day.
Superstitions don't have any power unless you give them power! Surrendering your power to your own demise is senseless!
Blessings
