With creationism and ID being all the rage, there must be some really stinging rebuttals to The Blind Watchmaker describing all the science that has gone in to proving that *indeed*, ID or creationism is most certainly the origin of species. Anybody got any names of books (or better yet, links to the books on Amazon)? Summer is approaching and I need to stock that reading list.

The Actual Greek word used is "pias" or "paida" which mean; "servant, child, son, manservant."

The exact same word "pias" is attributed to Jacob(Israel) in Luke 1:54 and translated as "servant":

"He hath helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy;." It is also applied to King David in Luke 1:69, and once again, it is translated as "servant": "....the house of his servant David;" (also see Acts 4:25).

Jesus(pbuh) is God's servant
1. Matthew 12:18: "Behold my servant, whom I have chosen."
2. Acts 3:13(RSV): "The God of Abraham, and of Isaac,.... hath glorified his servant Jesus."
3. Acts 4:27(RSV): "For of a truth against thy holy servant Jesus, whom thou hast anointed...."

Okay, there was just a question up regarding the concept of Creation as science. While there were some well thought out answers, I'm still not sure exactly how one would scientifically test for a supreme being's involvement on earth. So my question is, what kind of scientific test could we conduct to find tangible evidence for Creation? What types of scientific criteria would be involved in the scientific study of Creation? What observations could be objectively defined as showing evidence of Creation?

Those currently conducting experimentation regarding Creation are especially encouraged to answer.

Thanks.

After spending a few days on Yahoo! Answers, I have come to the conclusion that most people choose not to believe in something because that something has not been proven. Or to believe in something because it has been proven. Does this not take away from faith?

1920 'Therefore we may confidently expect that 1925 will mark the return of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the faithful prophets of old' (Millions Now Living Will Never Die, 1920, p. 89-90)

1975 "The year 1925 came and went. Jesus' anointed followers were still on earth as a class. The faithful men of old time - Abraham, David and others - had not been resurrected to become princes in the earth. (Ps. 45:16) So, as Anna MacDonald recalls: '1925 was a sad year for many brothers. Some of them were stumbled; their hopes were dashed...Instead of it's being considered a 'probability,' they read into it that it was a 'certainty.' and some prepared for their loved ones with expectations of their resurrection." (Yearbook, 1975, p. 146)

...or will you get a chance to hear it in the next life?
What about all of the people living in remote parts of the world, in jungles, in isolated areas, those that live under oppressive governments....and have never heard of Christ? Are they going to hell?
Is God merciful enough to give them a chance to hear it at some point, either in life or in death?

Since we can't find god in any place currently observable to man in any part of the electromagnetic spectrum can we assume that God is at least many lightyears away?

Doesn't that mean that God couldn't immediately effect us even if he wanted to?

So how is God important?

Or is God hiding behind Pluto?

1889 "Remember that the forty years' Jewish Harvest ended October A.D. 69, and was followed by the complete overthrow of that nation; and that likewise the forty years of the Gospel age harvest will end October, 1914, and that likewise the overthrow of 'Christendom,' so-called, must be expected to immediately follow." I've been told that the reason atheists are constantly telling us about leprachauns, the tooth fairy, and pink and purple unicorns is to point out to us how silly they think belief in God is.
From an atheist's pov, belief in God may be like belief in children's fairy tales, and I can accept that. If you happen to be an atheist, that's fine.
But when you use these examples to try to show believers that they are silly, you only wind up making us think you've lost YOUR marbles.
Maybe believers ought to have a round of drinks every time we hear this old argument used in R&S...hey, I'll by the first round, what do you say, people of faith??
LOL, but as often as we hear it, maybe we ought to just stick to plain soda, or we'll be stumbling outta here before lunchtime!!

Nobody can search 100% of the whole universe, right?

If you only test 99.999% then God could exist in the 0.001% that is left, right?

If that were the case would he still be important?
