Since all religions contradict each other, and the proof of each is ambivalent, wouldn't the safe bet (ergo Pascal's Wager) to be an Atheist?

Do you feel that because you have Christ, you now have all the answers? If so, please develop a foolproof cure for cancer with no harmful side effects, kkplzthxbai! If you admit that you do not have all the answers, do you truly feel qualified to issue a decree on what the truth is (and expect people to commit their eternal future to the hope that you are right), based on the few questions that you do have answers to? And third, if you do feel qualified to do this, do you feel that you can do so in a loving way that sees the humanity deep within a person, or must you put on your holier-than-thou suit to stand in judgement over those who do not agree with you?

I know that not every Christian is "holier than thou" but many here are. I'm interested in why. I know that not every Christian feels that they know it all. I truly appreciate when Christians share their views and get people to think, but we can do so without being condescending to people who believe differently, can't we?

Yes indeed, you can go throughout the bible and see that Jesus was a great fisher of men. He caught fish all the time. Differen't shapes and sizes. Some said unfaithful things to thee, and some did not. Sometimes Jesus even went fishing. Jesus was good at anything. In fact {walking on water} 1 of us try walking on the sea and we'd sink to the bottom lol. Oh brother's and Sister's out their and I know your ourt their this does not always have to be a argument everyday over who is wrong and who is right. Lets just rejoice that we have somewhere to sleep at night. That God gave us a life. The ones who don't know the Lord I will pray for you that you may know Him. {God Bless}

I recall that this is not biblically accurate and that hell in the bible is not concrete, more that there is heaven and purgatory. So when did this view of punishment for bad behaviour come into existence? Was it after the bible first came out? If so then when? Was it caused by a particular period in human history?

Fellow non-Christians, be on guard. Someone has finally come up with logical support for the existence of God. Scores of theologians have grappled with this question over hundreds of years, but all it was waiting for was one who thinks with the simplicity of a child. Brace yourselves, this one's a real body blow:

"In the beginning the was word and was God. so there is a God check Genni's 1:1 in your Bible"

Could it be any plainer than that? I think they've got us this time chaps, but we fought a brave fight, nothing to be ashamed about...no, no, there's just something in my eye...

A sex offender in Reno NV is causing a stir by going to church. Apparently the congregation doesn't feel safe with him in their midsts.

He says that getting right with the Lord and attending church is a vital part of his rehabilitation.

What do you think? Would it be the same if he was a murderer?

While I'm not a Super duper Christain, I know my place. Why do you refuse to have a Master? Everyone worships something!

It's just a Theory! is a campaign based on manipulating the misuse of the word by the general population. Intentional deception. Albert Einstein developed a Theory called the General Theory of Relativity. When you say you have a Theory all you really have is a substandard education.

Pascal's Wager. Posted on these boards daily. Most Atheists, Agnostics and even some well educated Christians understand the flaw inherent in the argument, but still it is used by unscrupulous Pastors and Priests in their recruitment lectures.

There is more proof of the existence of Jesus than of anyone who ever lived. Ridiculous and provably untrue, but taken at face value by simple people. Julius Caesar posed for commissioned statues, wrote books and had children. Jesus did none of the above. He had followers, but so did Apollo, Heracles and Neptune.

i'm realy fed up with people babling about this issue, that in islam,we kill apostates, that was in a certain time.but nowadays.no
and there's a verse in the qur'an that proves that ALLAH didn't gave us the right to kill the apostates:

"O ye who believe! if any from among you turn back from his Faith, soon will Allah produce a people whom He will love as they will love Him, lowly with the Believers, mighty against the Rejecters, fighting in the Way of Allah, and never afraid of the reproaches of such as find fault. That is the Grace of Allah, which He will bestow on whom He pleaseth. And Allah encompasseth all, and He knoweth all things"

You act as if Zeus doesn't exist, but what if you are wrong?
Why not just believe in Zeus? That way, if He exists, you get to spend eternity in Valhalla.
But if He doesn't exist, then you've lost nothing.
Is it really worth the risk?

how you ever stopped to think why christianity makes you so angry, why not the other religions? i mean no where in our faith our we suppose to hurt anyone or kill anyone(and im speaking of the new testament, i know things were different in the old one, but Christ's sacrifice changed all that), so its not like we would kill someone that wont except our beliefs( not a true christian). Jesus says to turn the other cheek, thats the real challenge( i still struggle with this one, but He is there for me when i fall). have you ever read any of the new testament? i used to think the bible was a bore and scary, but now i know its like a instruction booklet for how to live and wisdom for how to stay safe and how to treat others. and sooo much more. could it be you dont want to answer for the things you choose to do and be held accountable, cause you will even if you dont believe that. or something else?
