i'm realy fed up with people babling about this issue,that in islam,we kill apostates,that was in a certain time.but nowadays.no
and there's a verse in the qur'an that proves that ALLAH didn't gave us the right to kill the apostates:

"O ye who believe! if any from among you turn back from his Faith, soon will Allah produce a people whom He will love as they will love Him, lowly with the Believers, mighty against the Rejecters, fighting in the Way of Allah, and never afraid of the reproaches of such as find fault. That is the Grace of Allah, which He will bestow on whom He pleaseth. And Allah encompasseth all, and He knoweth all things"

can you people be more open-minded...am giving you the proof that islam is innocent from some so-called muslims do...in iran or whatever

i think that the religion issues are getting too much. we say he is sindhi so he must be drunkered and many such tnings which should be ignored and we should remember thatevery religion has bad people and good to for eg. as we say that Bodi are not drunkers but recently a case has come where a Bodi person was found sleeping on the road and fully drunked so if a person is terrolist it dosen't mean he is islamic

Like most holy books, the Qur'an can be used to justify pretty much anything. Whether the extremists are corrupting the meaning to justify killing, or whether you're corrupting the meaning to promote peace, or both, is of absolutely no practical consequence.

Islam is not innocent. Whether through misinterpretation or not, Islam has caused a lot of violence and hatred.

You are having the same problem that christianity is having. The word of god or Jesus has been so perverted by those who want control and power that you have islam of the middle east, which is not what Allah wanted and you have "christianity" of today that if Jesus had know that would be done in his name he would have strangled himself with his own umbilical cord.

given that the holy books of all monotheistic faiths are so full of verses I could probably find a verse to counter yours. However, quoting scripture doesn't mean anything.

So we have to look at the behavior of the people following the faiths. Not all muslims are terrorist, but how many terrorists proclaim to be muslim (I don't care whether you say they're not true muslims, THEY think they are)?

I think that ALL honorable people should be honored as honorable people - regardless of whether they are Islamic, Jewish, Christian, or any of the many others. There ARE honorable people in ALL of these faith groups.

Dishonorable people,on the other hand, should not be treated as honorable. I believe that ALL of these faith groups also have dishonorable people within their ranks.

I hate to say it, but I think that you're really naive about your religion. They are not only killing Muslims, but you tell me how many people from Western Civilisation are they killing JUST IN CASE they are Christians or Jews... you tell me how many of their wives dont actually get battered and treated as slaves.... (especially if the wife converted to Islam from Christianity and went to the Middle East to live with her husbands family??) I used to contemplate converting to Islam, now that I've left the Catholic church and gone to the LDS church, you'll never convert me...

I think because of the radical jihadist, people are confused. Christians do things wrong. James Jones was a horrible, but Christians of all denominations would state publicly he was horrible. It seems you good people are in fear of speaking out against the radical jihadist. People take that to mean the you really concur with their actions.

We can't be expected to know what the quran says since we don't read it, but we do react to the reality we see.
