Hitler was brought up as a Roman Catholic, but had his own ideas about Christianity when he was an adult.
I've heard people say he was an atheist. I do not believe this is true. It would be hard for me to believe that an atheist would believe that he and his race would be destined to rule. If you're destined to be anything, doesn't it mean some higher power is at work? It doesn't sound like an atheist to me.
Search wikipedia (take everything with a grain of salt), and confirm through other sources.
Here's a portion regarding his supposed Jewish ancestry:
Hitler's paternal grandfather was probably one of the brothers Johann Georg Hiedler or Johann Nepomuk Hiedler. There were rumours that Hitler was one-quarter Jewish and that his grandmother, Maria Schicklgruber, became pregnant while working as a servant in a Jewish household. During the 1920s, the implications of these rumours were politically explosive, especially for the proponent of a racist ideology. Opponents tried to prove that Hitler had Jewish or Czech ancestors. Although these rumours were never confirmed, for Hitler they were reason enough to conceal his origins. Soviet propaganda insisted Hitler was a Jew, though more modern research casts doubt on this. According to Robert G. L. Waite in The Psychopathic God: Adolf Hitler, Hitler made it illegal for German women to work in Jewish households, and after the "Anschluss" (annexation) of Austria, Hitler had his father's hometown obliterated by turning it into an artillery practice area. Thus Hitler seems to have betrayed a fear of being Jewish. Waite says that Hitler's insecurities in this regard may have been more important than whether Judaic ancestry could have been proven by his peers.
[UPDATE] LOL, I get two thumbs down for quoting from wikipedia, but somebody who says hitler was a communist gets no thumbs down?! Even though Hitler had an intense hatred of communism?

Hitler died at the end of WWII when the allies were invading Germany. He, his lover Ava Braun and a few others commtted sucide in their protected bunker. There is your history lesson. And even if it were a hoax The end of WWII is more than 60 years ago. He would still be dead. As for what he thought about religions. He exterminated 6 MILLION men women and CHILDREN because they were Jewish. not only a race of people that share our world, are our friends, neighbors, co-workers, family. What would havebeen next ? The catholics, orthodox, muslims? Does it really matter what he thought he was a sick minded murder who, if he had completed what his Master Plan to develop only a masterrace he would have ended up destroying the whole planet; intermarriages to only arian supremist and destroying everyone who wasn't perfect. Take a good look at your family. Any brown eyed brown haired under 6ft tall people in your family or friends? Well if Hitler had suceeded they wouldn't exist.

There is a lot of misinformation on here. By a few people.
Everyone who said "Catholic" is correct.
Adolf Hitler was a devout Roman Catholic whose GRANDFATHER was Jewish.
In his writings, he attributes his war against the Jews to what he saw as his duty in doing God's work on Earth.
New Catholic:
If you ever read his works, and those of his closest advisors, you'd see that he DID claim his war against the Jews was his duty to do God's work on Earth.
Get ahold of an edition of Mein Kampf that hasn't been cut in half by the Church (they're rare, but they can still be found).
The Roman Catholic church has been propagating the outright fabrication that Hitler abandoned the Church for his own demented form of spirituality, but it's just not true.
I know... it can't be true, can it? The Roman Catholic church lying about something... inconceivable...

There was evidence that suggested but did not prove that Hitler may have been Jewish by blood but not as a religion. Hitler was a communist and did not have a religion.

he was an occultist.
“Follow Hitler. He will dance, but it is I who have called the tune. I have initiated him into the secret doctrine, opened his centers in vision and given him the means to communicate with the Powers. Do not mourn for me. I shall have influenced history more than any other German.”
-Dietrich Eckart (dying words, 1923)
look up the Thule society, and hitler's involvement with it.
also, hitler was an avid follower of the anti-christian philosopher friedrich nietzsche.

I think it's a myth that either of his parents were Jewish. He was raised Catholic (at a time when the Catholic church in Germany was spouting some of its famously horrific antisemitism, btw).
