Of course early Jehovah's Witnesses made errors. Noah, Moses, David, Peter, and every other imperfect worshipper of God has made errors, and yet their worship was acceptable to God, and their work furthered God's purposes.
What is interesting about Jehovah's Witnesses is that they have always (for more than 130 years), carefully reminded their readers that their suppositions were the result of sincere bible research, rather than "predictions" or "prophesying". The Witnesses have repeatedly denied any miraculous "visions" or inspiration from God.
Interestingly, however, even those Christians who did enjoy direct communication from heaven at times came to wrong conclusions; these wrong conclusions were even communicated "out among the brothers"!
For example, the apostle Peter enjoyed remarkable privileges in the early congregation, but it seems that he was the source of an incorrect teaching about the apostle John that was not formally corrected until several DECADES had passed, and John himself finally wrote his gospel about 98 C.E.
(John 21:21-23) Peter said to Jesus: “Lord, what will this man do [that is, the apostle John]?” Jesus said to him: “If it is my will for him to remain until I come, of what concern is that to you? You continue following me.” In consequence, this saying went out among the brothers, that [the apostle John] would not die. However, Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but: “If it is my will for him to remain until I come, of what concern is that to you?”

The numbers weren't that undesirable. that is from an ex-JW. usually they desire to trash talk as much as a hazard. some human beings did fall away the two situations. Their faith did no longer take carry of their hearts properly adequate. on the grounds that i replaced into there in 1975, no longer 1925, i'm able to declare this. What replaced into stated replaced into they believed it were 6,000 years through fact the creation of guy. whether or no longer they have been "on the money" or off some years is of no magnitude on that factor. Their factor replaced into Armageddon could be close to and so might the business enterprise of God's Kingdom paradise in the international. that factor could be nearer than earlier because it quite is. Matthew ch. 24 is being fulfilled now. yet additionally so is verses 36-39. "purely the daddy knows" the coolest time of the tip of this corrupt device. no longer even Jesus knows and he stands out as the chief of that combat. purely like Noah's day whilst no one paid interest till it replaced into too previous due. God's timetable wasn't quickly adequate for people who fell away. They expected it suited then and whilst it did no longer happen like they expected, they left. They weren't keen to attend on Jehovah as real Christians would desire to. he's not s-l-o-w. 2Peter 3:9 tells us Jehovah needs all persons to get repentant and to no longer die. think of of it! on the grounds that 1975, over 2,000,000 individuals have become Jehovah's Witnesses with triple that fascinated ones analyzing. each and one and all of those would not be alive if Jehovah had accompanied those human beings's schedule! on no account now have a raffle for eternal life on a paradise earth below God's Kingdom.

I have vivid memories of listening to old 78 record of judge rutherford giving talk "millions now living. . . . Ï thought it was something to do with 1914? Anyway it is all nonsense. What about 1975 and other predictions? You must serve your God not like a donkey reaches for a carrot. That story of the generation that saw the things of 1914 will not pass away . . How has that been changed to fit the reality that they've just about all gone now?

Concerning those living in 1925, there still can be millions of them that will survive Armageddon. They are old now, but still may not see death.
The thing about Russell, which by the way celebrated Christmas, birthdays, and believed in pyramid power, is, he had the chronology correct.
He was wrong about the physical, earthly occurrences of the prophecies.
But as it stands, Christ did begin to reign in 1914, Babylon the Great did fall short in 1919, and God's Kingdom began to rule.
It took decades of ardent work for the 'Bible Students', to develop the doctrines the Jehovah's Witnesses have today. Most of which they still hold currently.
The parts of Russell's works that are correct are still held to. The parts that are not still have a lesson to them one way or the other.
Unlike Christendom, which continue to teach and preach Babylonian dead works, and Hellenistic religions, regardless how easy it is to show that's what they are---The Jehovah's Witnesses will correct beliefs when necessary when new findings call for it.
After all, that's the only way, one can say they have the truth that leads to everlasting life.

It was obviously wrong, inasmuch what They had anticipated did not occur. There must have been a great number of disappointed people.
But, then, there have also been a number of prophecies which failed to occur.
However, I would like to correct you on something. The J.W. are not exactly what I would describe an organization.
Jehovah's Witnesses are an international Christian denomination that had its origins in the United States with the 19th century Millerite and Bible Student movements. They adopted their present name in 1931 under the presidency of Joseph Franklin Rutherford. Some of the main differences with other Christian denominations and with the Roman Catholics are that Jehovah's Witnesses reject traditional Christian doctrines such as the Trinity, eternal torment in hell and the immortality of the soul.

Watchtower Witnesses fail to understand there is a difference between human error, and false prophecies. Noah, Moses, David, Peter, and others who worshiped God may have made errors due to their imperfection, but neither ever claimed to predict a prophecy or the return of Christ without guidance from the Lord. These saints certainly didn't hold on to false teachings and spread them decade after decade. Do not be fooled by this cult.

Considering the barbaric acts in christendom's history that were comitted in the name of God such as supported torture, wars, oppression and cruel political support and rulership then I can say Jehovah's Witnesses have no part nor shame in any of such atrocities.
Yes they have made mistakes as they are made up of imperfect people and do not disguise any of it or be overly embarressed to admit it.
It was a mistake that Jehovah's Witnesses had learned that as Jesus stated in Mark 13:32
"Concerning that day or the hour nobody knows, neither the angels in heaven nor the Son, but the Father. Keep looking, keep awake, for YOU do not know when the appointed time is"
In their over zealous expectation of when and the spoken of signs of the times drawing near to the end of this system of things they mistakenly drew a date to exactly when.
Though when Jesus battled Satan and throwing him down to earth with his demon followers could be discerned from the book of Daniel very accurately to 1914. They went a little to too far in naming the year of when the conclusion of this wicked system of things would end.
But to touchstones of the Truth are still beheld by Jehovah's Witnesses such as the preaching of the Heavenly Kingdom the unashamed use of God's name, Jehovah, earthly resurrection of millions of people as Jehovah promises, "the meek shall inherit the earth" and the worldwide spiritual family that shun all false worship and it's practices and being no part of this world. These are unique people who do as Jesus commanded: "And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations."
These as well as other reasons are why Jehovah's Witnesses are growing rapidly where in many countries they cannot build kingdom halls fast enough. They have the blessings of God's holy spirit and Jehovah will not hide their errors but they have learned and repented from them. Jehovah's Witnesses have not made the same mistake since of dating the end of this system of things but rather instead to 'keep on the watch.' (Mark 13:37)

No Jehovah's Witnesses denies that the early "bible students" were wrong on a few things with regards to understanding prophecies. But they were right on so much more.
How many other religious leaders when knowing that a doctrine is wrong, start teaching the truth?
My hats off to the prior Pope for admitting several years ago that there was no burning hell, but have the Catholics changed their teachings? When that came out, there were several protestant preachers who admitted it was true, but they still continue to teach the false doctrine. The Catholic Encylopedia admits that the trinity doctrine is not found in the bible, have they changed their doctrines? No!
But here a few men searching for truth, found it and were willing to go up against the world of Christianity and prove that it's doctrines were wrong, they faced persecution and imprisonment for the sake of the spreading this truth. No one claimed to be perfect or infallible, like the pope. They were not prophesying, but trying to understand prophecies. Which is a continual process of study, prayer, watching events in the world. As Proverbs 4:18 "But the path of the righteous ones is like the bright light that is getting lighter and lighter until the day is firmly established." We will have a more complete understanding when Jehovah feels it is necessary.
So why keep harping on things said or done a 100 years ago, by someone long dead. Jehovah's Witnesses are always moving toward advancement, they never slow down, they continue to improve in areas as needed to grow to spiritual maturity. 1 Tim. 4: 15 & 16 "Ponder over these things, be absorbed in them, that your advancement may be manifest to all persons. Pay constant attention to yourself and to your teachings. Stay by theses things, for by doing this you will save both yourself and those who listen to you."
