Christians, do you honestly think that Jesus will come again during your lifetime? Do you honestly think this kind of belief is one held by rational people? Isn't that like saying you know Santa Claus is coming down the chimney on Christmas?

In modern Christianity, God is supposed to be love, correct?

IF that's the case, then why is the very first commandment "I am a jealous God. Thou shalt have no other gods before me"? To futhery quantify it, how can God assist with wars (look at Joshua in the battle of Jericho) if it's to be believed he's peace-loving and caring? What of the people who were slaughtered in his name?

Explain this to me, please?

I just answered a question in which a man says women should be forced to obey Shariah law. I am a muslim woman, and I've studied Shariah law. Much of it is contrary to the teachings of Islam, such as apostates being murdered when the Quran says to leave them alone, and victims of rape being doubted by being forced to provide four wtinesses when the hadiths say that on her very word the rapist is stoned to death. Why would these "men" want to force that on women when it's against Islam? In my opinion, it's cultural and the men who desire this are insecure in their ownselves, so they need to "control" a woman whom they consider weaker and dumber (yeah RIGHT! eyes rolling) to make themselves feel better.

What is your opinion on men like this? They also deny women their islamic OBLIGATION and RIGHT to an education saying that it's from Islam, when the Quran and hadiths themselves ORDER both genders to be educated.

What do you honestly think of these kinds of "men"?

most "christians" will not be welcomed in because of their ill treatment of others, and have to stand there watching homosexuals and members of other religious groups and atheists walk through those "pearly gates" because we lived good honest lives without standing in judgement and being hypocrites?
Of course it's entirely hypothetical, but so are most of the questions on R&S, eh.
(and yes, I know it's judgemental to ask this, but hey, we have to judge enough to know right from wrong, but not to exclude people from being treated fairly)

anyway. Is astral projection real or not. I am too scared to tried it. Because of Sleep paralysis, I often hallucinate.

1. The unexplained is not evidence that God exist
(who made this? who made that? ect.)

2. Assumptions aren't facts. You can't assume God exist all because you can't think of anything else

3. The bible isn't evidence. Anybody could have written that. They're more contradictions in the bible than all the science books combined

Why do you believe what you believe? What reasoning do you use to justify it to yourself, or to others?

Christians always tell me that their god only has two levels of judgment. Either you have accepted Jesus, or you haven't.

Yet, they also claim that their God knows 'the names of all my hairs on my head' or something like that.

Why on earth would a Christian claim that their God, who is supposedly all-knowing, would be such a silly judge?

Is that really their image of their god? "It doesn't matter what you did, I'm gonna judge you only based on one little thingy"?

Even as an atheist, I find that blasphemous. No god can be that silly, not even an invented one.

I'm doing a research paper and require the Christian view of Genetic Modification (GM) of food. This needs to include quotes and information on the source. I understand just saying Christian leaves it open to many different views, it doesn't worry me whether it be an Anglican, Catholic, Protestant etc view. Just as long as it's a view generally regarded as that Church's view.

well this question is for the atheists. You people say you don't believe there is a god but why do so many atheists talk about the subject on god and discuss to people who believe that he exists? And why is god mostly the main subject for atheists I mean couldn't you guys also talk about other religions such as budda? or Islam or even pagen religions. And why does it seem that atheists just want to put down god and not budda or the others I mentioned?

There is a prophetic statement about prophet Muhammad who was sitting with some of his companions when he saw a "woman" passing by, then he left his companions and grabbed one of his wives "Zaynab" and had sex with her and then he came back to sit again with his companions.

The whole statement is shown in the following website (in its original Arabic language):

http://hadith.al-islam.com/Display/Display.asp?hnum=2491&doc=1

1- How could his companions know that he had sex with his wife (did he tell them)?

2- Does seeing a woman passing by make him feel that lust (like a teenager)?

3- Was not prophet Muhammed able to wait until his companions leave?

4- That statement tells that the wife "Zaynab" was busy with her housework and neverthless prophet Muhammad had sex with her while his companions were waiting outside. Did he see if she was also "ready" under the circmustances?

It seems that nowadays many people believe that Islam is simply evil. Personally I know that Islam is a peaceful religion and not really very far off from Christianity, however nowadays it seems that every ignorant North American teen hates Islam. When I was a kid I don't remember this being the case, nowadays it seems that Muslim = terrorist = evil in every case. So my question is, when did this happen? If you believe this, why?

I'm an atheist. All the morals i have seem to have come to me through my own logic. I never needed your God to tell me that raping and murdering my neighbor's wife was kinda wrong, I figured it out all by myself. No Bible was even needed for that.

If I figured that out all by myself, shouldn't your God appreciate that a whole lot more than when somebody simply follows his Word? Isn't it a much bigger accomplishment to have done it without Him telling me all that?

I think your God is very proud of us atheists, really.
