Don't any Christians know what the bible has written about this crap?
WHY MUST A SATANIST POINT SUCH OBVIOUS STUFF OUT???
Matthew 16:28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
Mark 9:1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.
Luke 9:27 But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.
In Each verse it clearly says THERE BE SOME STANDING HERE, WHICH SHALL NOT TASTE OF DEATH!
It does NOT SAY there will be some standing here that have not tasted of death!
It is clearly refering to people that were there at the time this was said! COME ON WAKE UP AND SMELL THE BULLSHIT!
All of those people are DEAD! Jesus is NOT returning!
Can we drop this crap now???

How is it that rational people believe in Santa Claus and Christmas?
If Jesus does not come again, the second time, and make all things new as promised, then all is as fake as Santa and the chimney.
2Pet.3:13; Isa.45:18; 65:17; 66:1,22,23; Rev.21:1-5; The heavens and the earth will not be neglected, neither will the people that trust in Jesus John 17:3; 1Cor.15:22-28,51-53; There are thos for the new heavens and those for the new earth.

My answer to your first question is I don't know. As Christians we know we aren't promised that He is coming back in our lifetime, only that He will return at the appropriate time. To answer your second question I think there are rational and irrational Christians just as there are rational and irrational atheists, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Taoists, etc. Your spiritual beliefs alone do not determine whether or not you are a rational being. To answer your third question, no. If you need an explanation I would suggest you research Santa Claus, where he came from and what he was about. Then, read the Bible. Have a blessed day.

Well, Santa is just a comic character based on Nicholas (I think) but when Jesus said He'll comeback, he mean it. We just don't know when. Like when the Mary Magdalene went to his tomb and found out that He's no longer there it's a miracle. Shown himself to his disciples to make them believe that he was resurrected and to more than 500 followers.
"Matthew 24:42-44 (NIV) "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him."

The fact that there is strife within and among the churches MAY be one of the signs of the end times.
The folks at Family Radio believe the Final Judgment and Second Coming of Christ will be in the fall of 2011.
For example see the book “Time Has an End” on line at:
http://www.timehasanend.org/public/en_time_has_an_end_cont.html
This group, whose primary teacher is one Harold Camping, also believes the Church Age has ended in 1988 and believers are to come out of the churches as they are now under the control of malevolent forces now that the Tribulation has begun. According to this group, this is why there is so much strife between and within church groups. Mr. Camping’s interpretations of the bible are highly allegorical, so let the reader beware.
See the book Time Has an End, Ch. 10:
http://www.timehasanend.org/public/en_time_has_an_end_ch10.html
That said, the online audio lectures at Family Radio, are illuminating and worth a listen:
See: http://worldwide.familyradio.org/zusa/english/connect/audio_archive/echoes/frame/download/download.html
Finally, for the offline version of the Family Radio nightly call in show, where folks ask questions about the bible to Mr. Camping, see:
http://worldwide.familyradio.org/zusa/english/connect/audio_archive/forum/frame/
I am not endorsing Family Radio’s doctrines, but one is able to learn quite a bit by listening to these materials.
Most of what you will read about the end times are pre-millennial views: the view that Christ's return will usher in a future millennium of Messianic rule mentioned in the book of Revelation before the final judgment. The believers of this doctrine also hold to the notion of a Rapture of the righteous beforehand.
Others hold that there will be only one second coming of Christ, at the time of the Final Judgment.
Then there are mixtures involving the views of the seven year tribulation and whether it is happening now, occurs later, etc.
These doctrines all fall under the general heading known as the study of end times, or eschatology.
For explanations of the various eschatological beliefs see: http://www.religioustolerance.org/millenni.htm
I am a Amillennialist. I believe we are currently living in the Millennium and in the Tribulation period. Events described in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 and in most of the book of Revelation have already happened. To me the Antichrist is figurative and not a real person. I believe that the Kingdom of God is today present in the world through the presence of the heavenly reign of Christ, the Bible, the Holy Spirit and Christianity. Both good and evil continues in the world until the current Church Age ends suddenly when Christ returns to the sky above the earth. The Rapture follows. The Redeemed are transported to heaven where they will adopt spiritual bodies. The majority of humanity will be sent to Hell at this time for eternal punishment. The world will be abandoned. History is no more.

If a man comes calling himself the Mahdi (The Muslim equivalent to messiah essentially) Then YES! It will be just a matter of time, three to seven years after the Mahdi shows himself - then Jesus will come to destroy him and all who the Mahdi leads against Jesus. Even those bend knee to the Mahdi or the image the Mahdi sets up (depending on who the Mahdi is, Antichrist or false prophet).
At any rate - we have no assurance Jesus will return tomorrow, the next day or even a hundred years from now. We do have assurance he will return at the proper time, and even Jesus does not know when that time will be - only his Father knows.
If you wish to equate this to Santa Clause, there is nothing I can do to stop you, nor will I try. If the gospel is hidden at all, it is hidden to those who are perishing. Its that simple.

Yes, Jesus is coming back soon. Oh ye of little faith.
No it’s not the same as Santa. Jesus is a REAL person and Santa is just Satan pretending to be Christ. If Jesus wasn’t coming back, why would Satan invent Santa in order to make Jesus appear mythological as well?

To be true with you , no one really knows when he will come for sure. It may be in the next hour or so, ok fine it may be during my lifetime. A christian is not defined by terms like 'rational', because what I see as rational may not be rational according to world standards. I'd rather be a fool for Christ!

Yes, I honestly believe that Jesus is going to come back in my lifetime. No, I do not believe in Santa. I am a very rational person. So rational, that despite years of rebellion against God, I cannot deny His existance. There is so much we don't know, and my surrendering to God, has brought my ability to realize so much, into reality. There is a God, and He is who He says He is and oneday, you will know too.

The Judeo/Christian Bible is a singularity in literature in that it contains predictive prophesy that has been 100% accurate.
That fact alone is enough for a rational person to deduce that those prophesies contained in the book that have not come to pass will eventually come to pass exactly as they have been prophesied.
Should a person believe as the Bible demands and nothing happens when he dies, that person has really lost nothing. Should a person not believe and things happen as prophesied, that persons life has been a waste and he has really lost everything.
Be wise. Eternal life and everlasting joy filled with glory is within your grasp.
