In modern Christianity, God is supposed to be love, correct?

IF that's the case, then why is the very first commandment "I am a jealous God. Thou shalt have no other gods before me"? To futhery quantify it, how can God assist with wars (look at Joshua in the battle of Jericho) if it's to be believed he's peace-loving and caring? What of the people who were slaughtered in his name?

Explain this to me, please?

Jealousy is not love, no matter how you look at it. It's self centered and egotistical........the very antithesis of love.

This is why Abrahamic Religions do not work and can "justify" their crimes against humanity.

Ok i will. Most of the people killed in the old teastement, were prodgney of the fallen angels and te daughters of men. They occupied the regions that were rightfully God's peoples. Another word's God promised His people these lands, thats why He assisted in the battle. He still does it today. The giants have no salvation thats why there names translate into hebrew as dead. They are very wicked and have no chance at redemption. As far as God's jealousey. How would you feel if you went to war and came back and your wife was with child. God is coming back for a virgin bride. And satan is coming first at the 6th trump pretending to be Jesus. Those who follow him will no longer be spiritual virgins. That is why the false rapture doctrine is so dangerous.

What if the jealous god of the Old Testament is not the same loving god of the New Testament. Would that explain it for you?
