God warns Adam & Eve not to eat from "the tree of knowledge" or they will die. Is there any verses in the bible were god makes it clear of the consequences of sinning other then - you will die? How could they, adam & eve have possably understood death?

Rufus H. Cornelius penned this song in 1916. He had that SAME desire that YOU had.

"Oh, I want to see Him"

As I Journey Thro The Land, Singing As I Go,
Pointing Souls To Calvary – To The Crimson Flow,
Many Arrows Pierce My Soul, From Without, Within,
But My Lord Leads Me On, Thro’ Him I Must Win.

When In Service For My Lord, Dark May Be The Night,
But I’ll Cling More Close To Him, He Will Give Me Light.
Satan’s Snares May Vex My Soul, Turn My Thoughts Aside,
But My Lord Goes Ahead, Leads What’er Be-tide.

Setting aside all the unfair representation Jesus has had through the ages and thinking only of what He did and said, himself, what would you ask Him? How would you serve Him? What food might you prepare? Or would you just tell him to go next door instead?

Gods wrath?
About 4 months ago i got the flu. It was horrible, and i had some of the worst symptoms you can get. I got better after a week and fully recovered soon after. I figured i wouldnt get the flu again, because i figured i'd be immune. But i didnt take into account the other strains. A month ago i contracted a second strain, and my symptoms were three times as bad as the last time, and it took me about 3 weeks to fully recover (my symptoms were paralysis, vomiting, diarrhea, etc., normal, yes, but bad). After the first and before the second, I hadnt been obeying god very much, and personally, i think i needed a good old kick in the *** to get moving and do what i needed to do. But i didnt, and even though i was the symbol of perfect health (I ate right, lifted weights, ingested plenty of antioxidants, etc. etc.), somehow my resitance became extremely low and I got the worst flu of my life. Was god trying to punish me for not obeying him?I could always just have a horrible immune system

Just a clarification for those who inquire about it.

I am Baptist (religion) but Christian above everything else. I've noticed quite a few questions regarding if it's possible to lose your salvation. The simple answer to that is No.

Once you are a saved, you are always saved. What confuses people is the fact that they fool themselves into thinking they are truely believers. Just because you go to church, can quote the word, or have your name on a roster doesn't make you saved. Satan knows God's word and demons have entered the santuary before. Christianity is a life style. If you honestly believe and trust, then you will display that love for all everywhere you go (ALL the time).
If you are really saved, losing it should be the last thing on your mind. If you fear that then you aren't really saved.
Reason: Jesus knows all. Judas followed him around & Jesus knew he didn't believe. If one falters in their belief, it was known they would.

TRUTH

We only have paintings, statues or sculptures of these people. Their words are mostly reported and written down by others. Not a person living can say they met these men. Yet we believe in their existance and agruements only arise about historical issues.

The same be said for Christ. We do have His words in the Bible. A book about Caesar is just as much just a book as is the Bible. We have paintings, sculptures and statures of Christ. Same for Caesar.

So if you can believe in the men in the question why can you not believe in Christ?

why do some of them get involved in things that are none of their business, and use their religion to justify their judgement of people? [i'm not saying all do, i tried to get opinions from church goers to see what their church was like, but no answers]

the reason i ask this, is that one of the churches in my area has decided that what members of my family do is their 'personal concern'-- they do not know the whole story of the situation (which centers around a divorce) yet condemn & judge us.

my mother just started going to this church, in an attempt to follow my dad around, and she's got them convinced of her 'righteousness'--and that my dad is completely in the wrong. the church has urged her to try to get us (my brother & i) to not speak to out father, which has resulted in a split of the family. my brother is excommunicated from my mother's side of the family, and we are both 'disowned' as a result of this. we both (and my dad) receive mail from the church saying ...

If he knows what is in our hearts and minds and knows what kind of people we are why does he find the need to use the devil to test us? Why does find the need to try and break our will, to get us to sin or not tp prove ourselves to him if he already knows what kind of person we are?

What if someone very close to you in the perfect health father, mother, sister, brother, child died for no apparent reason? How long would your faith hold against this kind of test? Could you actually tell yourself that it is all part of Gods plan and go on or would you curse him and walk away forever?

I am now a Humanist and believe that there's no Hell. I do not call myself a Christian anymore because there's no REAL historical evidence for even that Jesus existed at all, much less that He was who he claimed he was.

I studied for years, Josh McDowell, Apologetics, I loved Jesus and the Holy Spirit, Norman Geisler and C.S. Lewis, etc, etc...

But now, after doing some serious research, I had to stop believeing - Come to find out that I'd have just as much logical and reasonable reason to believe in Zeus!

So, I have de-personalized God, as I'm sure most of you will do also, when the information comes flooding the airwaves.... I must say to you Christians who will have to stop believing because of this kind of enlightenment to consider unitariannism, universalism or Humanism.

That way, you can still even call yourself a Christian and/or can retain a good moral code (although atheism has developed a fantastic moral code based completely on reason!)

I think God must understand.

You have the intent on hurting them. And you made a physical action towards hurting them but didnt do the actual hit. You made a negative movement does that count? and talking about people behind their back if they never figure out is it bad karma? So basically a summary of my question would be what you dont know wont hurt you could that kind of be applied to karma?

"Free speech. Atheism is just as legitimate as theism in this section."

What's that? Did you just put atheism and theism in the same category, as if they were both contrasting sets of beliefs? Well correct me, because I have been yelled at by so many atheists saying that atheism is a total lack of beliefs, not a set of beliefs, which would, essentially, make it it's own religion.

Hmmm...

Now anyone else want to answer my original question?
