Yikes...I'll maybe negotiate with God: Plz, can I get my dad to do this?
God: no, go
Me: Now?
God: yes now
Me: Help.
God: Go
me: must I?
God: NOW!!!
me: okay...is this legal?
Maybe I'll take a couple of minutes to think about it eventually if I would do it because the Bible says if you do not preach to the person that God had laid on your heart than their blood is in your hands...kinda freaky.

I am an athiest and my faith runs very deep. I have a very strong belief system. Just because I don't believe in God or follow a mainstream religion doesn't mean I don't have faith in something. If I heard a voice in my head, I wouldn't go to the doctor right away. I actually find that kind of offensive.

Yes, I often do hear the audible voice of God. Once I began to realize I had to obey all that I learned, God began to bless me. He says blessings come from obedience. REmEMBER?
and disobedience leads to curse.
I do hear God telling me to do things, and sometimes its something uncomfy, but you know what I do what God says because He knows best what I should do and not do. and He gives me the strength and courage to do it. He is now calling me to preach. and I used to be terrified to get up front and talk about anything. Not anymore. I dont even think on it. I go up and say just what God told me to say and not a fear is there. The Lord doesnt give a spirit of fear, but a spirit of Hope, in Him. He is coming soon.
we can just pray every athiest will one day know these truths, before they die or Jesus comes, because by then its too late.
My faith is as deep as it gets, and I saw that the more faith I had and acted in obedience, the more faith He gave me and more confidence, and more annointing power, and the strength to do whatever He asks of me. My faith has seen me thru many awful things, where I came out stronger and in even more faith and learned things in the process. GOd blesses those that love Him enough to obey Him.

I think an Atheist would be more likely to take such a voice seriously and at face value. A Christian would only do what it said if it coincided with what they thought or wanted to do. Otherwise they'd go to a doctor because if it didn't agree with them, the voice in their head MUST be wrong.

I have been called to preach (pastored 5 churches) and to be a missionary (served 7 months) and to attend Bible college (in my 3rd year), but if I heard an audible voice from God I would visit the doctor.

I might wait and see if I heard it again and also go to a trusted priest for advice and guidance (like young Samuel did in the Old Testament).
If it persisted, then I would obey. But Scripture advises to always test a dream/vision/spirit because some things can be a trick of Satan.
God bless you.

The Son of Sam heard very similar voices, did not go to the doctor, and see where it got him and his victims?

Definitely. I heard the voice in 7th grade, this fall I'm going to college to help me to prepare to go out and preach. (God told me that to tell the Deaf Community about him)

if i heard ANYONE talking in my head (besides myself, lol) i would SOOO go see a quack...
by the way... just because i am logically able to know that hearing an unknown voice in my head is crazy doesnt mean i lack faith....
i believe in god... i also believe god wouldnt talk to me.. why would it? why would god take time on me and not everyone?
