When I say free I mean free from Christianity.

I know I am.

That's hilarious how somebody said they are free in yet they are Christian. In yet in the sources they put to "obey the Bible". I don't know if they fail to see the hypocrisy or not. You are under not free if you are following the illogical and contradictory teachings of an old book.

As an atheist and an individual, I am Free. I need nothing external from myself to make me happy or complete. Though people may try to take my freedom they cannot for the only REAL Freedom that exists is within You and the only way one can loose that kind of Freedom is to give it away for no one can simply take it.

Anyone know this part of the Bible?
Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? "Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us." He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

To the wicked, good and righteousness are "bands" and "cords" because it keeps them from raping or killing someone, or from destroying what they don't like, or from stealling something that they want. They don't like it, and they hate Christianity which is like being a good citizen, or like being proper police.

Criminals hate the law, the law binds them; it is just about that simple sometimes.

That part of the Bible finishes like this:
Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

This section of the Bible deals with when God sends His Son to finally put to an end all evil on earth. It will happen one day, it is inevitable. In the meantime, the heathen rage and imagine vain things.

I don't follow it, but I wouldn't say I was "free" from it. There are Christian billboards, public service announcements, crappy leaflets left on my front door, ignorance from the fundies here, BS from my aunts and uncles, mindless tripe from coworkers and the King of Douchebags, George Bush himself, who spends billions of dollars to support his own "holy" war instead of doing his job.

All of it simply reinforces my decision not to be a part of it.

I am free!! and I've never felt better- Everyone says to know god is to never feel alone... I feel more complete when I'm honest with myself and I don't feel alone because I don't have to wonder why I can't feel what "they" believe

I am not free in your terms. Your terms are lame and unfulfilling. I am free, however, from addictions, social vices, sexual perversions, greed and other lame things that control peoples lives...and you can take that to the bank.
