This question occured to me when someone answered the question of "what's the worst that could happen if gay people were allowed to marry" with "well, then the mormons are going to want legal marital status for their arrangements!" So, what I'm wondering is, why should I care if polygamy is legal (provided, ofcourse, that it occurs among consenting parties)? Am I missing something, or it this also a non-issue that won't effect me in the slightest?

Because Secularism has taken GOD out of every public arena.

Todays youth called the *Entitlement Generation* have re-defined morality..Today's young girls have no quams on being called *Slutty* as in the Girls Gone Wild Videos in fact they think it's very cool!. High School kids think it's okay to be gender nuetral and homosexuality is *trendy* Middle School and High Schoolers say they have NO FEAR of there parents and binge drinking is on the rise...

This is a generation that is suppose to grow up and make the world a better place, no GOD no religion, Whos' going to give them any morals to live by? Atheists? our government?

Let's say that Intelligent Design is going to be taught in a grade school classroom and you are the teacher.

What is your lesson plan?

Imagine that you stand in front of the class, they all get out their pencil and paper, they look up at you, waiting for the lesson to begin, ready to take notes, and the lesson plan is..... (and now it's your turn to answer)

When I pray and ask questions to God to get an answer from him and wait for God to speak. I can't tell if I'm hearing the devil's voice or God's voice. That's how sometimes I get into trouble. Please help, what should I do so I can hear his voice? I already talked to somebody about this at church last Sunday and they say " My sheep knoweth my voice" and that didn't help me. I don't know his voice and I don't know what they're talking about. Please help, I feel like giving up on trying to be a Christian.

I have been a Christian for seven years and have told many people this, but lately, when I really, really think about it - it just seems "not real" to say that.

I mean, we see, taste, hear, feel things that are real. We can hhold these things, we can drink water and breathe air. We can observe water under a microscope. We can prove it, by finding water nearly everywhere - we cannot live without it.

But God. I've never seen heard, smelled, or touched him... Not really...

I have been studying psychology in college and it appears that people can convince themselves of anything they want to.

Delusions work exactly the way that I perceive my own religious experience and the experience of others with "God."

I'm afraid my faith is not as strong as I had supposed. Religious belief, to include Christian faith, seems increasingly like a neurosis or "mass/cultural delusion."

What do I do?

Whether you feel homosexuality is okay or not, don't you think it is horrendous what the stigma does to some people? Kids are torn apart, not only because they have realized that they don't fit the status quo, but also because they have been told their entire lives that these feelings that they can't control are evil, sinful, and will lead them to hell.

This is simply shameful. I can't believe what some Christians will put their own loved ones through because of this belief system. I think this torture of the soul of gays, who are already having trouble accepting themselves, is a crime.

I just want Christians to understand what they do to some people with this campaign against homosexuality. It is cruel and inhuman what you put some people through.

Don't you feel there is a better way? That is my question, is this really THE only way, THE way to God? Can you not even consider that perhaps Paul got this little point wrong?

I hope you do. Your response?

Told them that, in fact, the Sun was a ball of gas millions of miles away, and we orbited this ball of gas........there was no god who drove a flaming chariot across the sky from East to West?

The majority of the population in ancient Greece believed this.

2500 years later, we laugh at this mythology in favor of scientific discoveries.

Whatever your particular mythology happens to be will likely be no different in 2500 years.

I've noticed questions regarding maters of sexuality - both homo and hetro are treated with bilious vitriol by people quoting biblical verse and being a spokeperson for god. I was brought up 'omni-religious' to see and understand all religious practices and I don't recall ever coming across ANYTHING which dictated hating your fellow man. There was a lot of forgiveness, understanding, overcoming adversity, aid towards strangers, and while I don't believe in any god this is what I mainly draw as to mean leading a good 'christian' life.

So when did spewing so much hate coming into the equation? It never used to be something I considered but now I just treat all people of faith with suspicion - are a few bad apples spoiling the barrel?

and when does it begin and end? Before and after 'personhood', is there value? Is there life?

If I am un-conscious, am I a person? If I am numb, am I? Who decides?

I read some answers to a couple of earlier questions that really bothered me. I think it boils down to the question of 'personhood' and the value of life.

Terrorism runs deep into the fabric of the United States. Maybe it depends on how you define terrorism - but I believe any attack on a group of people because of their belief system is a terrorism attack. People came here because of religious persecution in Europe and when Europeans got here they murdered millions of Native Americans and Africans because of manifest destiny and then have the nerve to call someone else a terrorist. So my question is do white people in America really think God will forgive them if they fail to acknowledge and claim that this has no effect on Blacks and Native Americans today - just because "it happened a long time ago." Will This spiritually get you into the gates of heaven by ignoring that the forefathers of America raped, murdered, and stole to get what you have today? Regardless if you do not think like them or not - you are reaping the benefits of their murder, rape and theft. Is it cool for whites to take this so lightly?

What if the president gave you free-will to choose whether to swear your allegiance to him or die?

You have free-will to choose, so does this mean that this President is bad?

What if the President really loved everybody and was a good guy, and just wanted to protect us, and he knew that the only way to protect us was to get us to swear our allegiance to him?

Suppose this President had built a huge furnace to burn the enemy of the President in, and decided to use it to kill those who would not swear allegiance to him?

Suppose that you never actually saw this president, but only read about him in the papers?

This president wants to protect you, but he made it so that if you choose to not swear allegiance to him, you will die in his furnace. So, in reality, YOU choose to die in the furnace because there is no other choice.

Is this a fair system? Is this a loving president?

Is the furnace fair?
