Yes, I can. If you have thought about something, put some effort into it, and ask if it is right, it means you will have certain feelings if it is right. These will usually consist of clear thought, peace, warmth, calmness, generous and selfless. If not, you may feel confused, troubled, unsure, wary, cold or selfish. These feelings and thoughts will affect both your mind and your heart. For an example, think about how you felt after you recently helped someone for no reason other than because they needed your help and you could help. Compare that to if you hurt someone for no reason other than you could.

It means you follow the path of peace. That small still, quiet voice. Not all the banging and clanging going on around you.
Haven't you ever had a scratchy, funny feeling down in you not to do something. That is usually God letting you know not to make a certain decision and conversely haven't you ever had a total peace about something?

To hear with your heart? Other ways of of saying it are to listen to your heart; to listen to your conscience; to pray with your whole being and really hear God. Most people don't literally hear God's voice out loud, as Paul did on the road to Damascus (in the book of Acts in the Bible)... most of us listen to what God is saying through our spirit and heart.

* Listening and deciphering with ones gut or using their feelings to be open to the meaning of the information that is presented to them. They are pondering and searching for the truth. In short being sincere.

Listen to your True Feelings. Some might call this "gut intuition."
Contimplate this for a bit... Everytime a thought (ANY thought) comes to your mind, allow yourself to revel in the energy you feel within your body. Does it feel good? Does it make you feel alive? OR Does it feel bad? Does it make you feel tense, etc?
These feelings are what our emotions are based upon, and they stem from each of our own moral standards of living.
Hearing with your heart, to me, means truly listening to your inner emotions/feelings/energy, and to understand that you want to continually reach for that "Good" feeling within you.
For "Truth" is nothing more than what feels "Right/Good" within you. Hence why we have the phrase, "That rings true!" For it can cause a ringing and high vibration within your self.

I'm a Christian and I don't encourage others to hear with their heart, so I'm not sure what SOME christians meant.

You would think more answers from those who pretend to have a special or privileged relationship with God since his spirit does target the heart which may mean that it is not understood intellectually nor would it be intended to be understood in its intellectual context.

I don't think Christians know the answer to that question.
Ask the animists. Or, somebody who doesn't think the earth is evil.
