Perhaps he's trying to get in touch with his feminine side and giving us the silent treatment...

Because he wants to see if you actually will
Have you heard this story?
There was a guy, driving along the highway and every day he prayed that he wouldn't get into a car accident, and that he would be safe.
The one day he didn't pray, he got into a car accident. Call it coincidece, call it whatever, but the guy asked God, "I prayed every day, only this one day I didn't, why did you do this to me" God replied, "Its just a test of your faith."
We all have free agency. To do what we wish. I feel sorry for your son. Because of the fact that you, are a hurt individual.
God doesn't talk to us because he has other things in mind. Like the 2nd coming, like other things. If God didn't create you, who did?
Have you ever heard Michael John Montgomery's, The little Girl song? Where she testified that when her daddy killed her mother and then himself that while she was hiding behind the couch, Jesus was there comforting her?
You don't have to believe in God to know that something exists. Whether or not you understand this fact, is up to you.
Telling your son that their is NO God, will only make it worse on you when he grows up, killing people and when you asked why he did it, his reply..there is NO God daddy, so people don't mean anything.
Think before you speak. Thank you.

He does talk to us. you may not hear an actual voice but if you listen with your heart He speaks to you.when you get those conscious feelings about things thats Him whispering in your ear.as well as the Bible. It says to be still and listen.but mostly He is waiting for you to change your lifestyle and accept Him as Savior before He will help you He will not have anything to do with an unsaved/saved person who continually chooses to sin rather than give up a lifestyle and worship Him.

The Father and the Son will only speak directly to Their ordained and called prophet. The Spirit of God or the Holy Ghost will make manifest the truth to individuals through visions, dreams, and interpretations.

God is sovereign and speaks audibly only on occasion.
He speaks through the written word and through both contemporary and prophets of old...as well as manifesting himself by other means that are clearly understood by those who know Him.
Explain this...just one incident that I experienced many years ago. I will not tell the whole story...but I was in need of a dime...just one dime...I prayed for God's provision in my need and ,,,, a dime appeared in my hand (this is a true story)....and I understand that this personal experience alone would not be compelling evidence for believing in Him...but...........share this story with your son and let him decide.

You are right. He doesn't exist... physically. No one can tell how he looks like and what he says. It's all in people's mind only. Moreover, if you hear voices in your head, you are probably getting crazy, not because God talks to you.

He talks to me. I am listening. In your case, you would be double-minded and doubt his speech as being his.
Jesus replied, "I have already told you, and you don't believe me. The proof is what I do in the name of my Father. But you don't believe me because you are not part of my flock. My sheep recognize my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. So no one can take them from me. The Father and I are one." -John 10:25-30

God is not here physically, how do you expect him to TALK. I would find it quite frightening and so would your son I guess... I prefer to 'hear' him in my heart, dreams, intuitions and decisions. When I do something good, it's him talking to and through me. Sorry if you don't like my answer, but that's how I feel.

Good question! In the bible days he supposedly spoke to people, did he not? Why doesn't he speak now?
Wouldn't it be funny if the bible was based on some dude climbing up a mountain behind moses & yelling "Moses, this is the voice of god" while his friends huddled behind a rock & laughed at him. "I can't believe he's really falling for it!"
Esther: You're so quick to point out such irrelevant things. I didn't get any impression that his question was "short tempered".... You're just being overly defensive like most christians who's beliefs are questioned. You might as well just say "anyone who doesn't talk to god is a satanist" with that arrogant point of view. When asking the question he wanted the "non verbal" communication excluded because ANYONE can say "god speaks to me all the time..... in my mind!" ........ He wants to know about a "physical" presence speaking to a mass of people! Not just one person... like George W. who claims that god speaks to him & tells him to do things! (crazy S.O.B)

He's not a human being!! you must be a spirit to talk to him otherwise you can't, and god will not talk to people like you!! you must be on his side if you want him to talk to you!! everything is possible with God!!
I agree 100% with Love Shepherd's Good answer

Depends on your beliefs, I assume you are a christian and the major point of christianity is faith. It would require no faith to believe in someone you can physically talk to. Why God wants us to have faith, only he can know, but since he's God we should do what he says!
