If you, as a Christian, were employeed as an archaelogist and you unearthed evidence that Jesus never existed, or found evidence that the Bible was "made up" from fables, if you saw that it, nomatter what it was, was a very important archaelogical find, yet would really, really hurt the Christian religion, would you hide it?

I already know that you believe that no such evidence exists, but I'm talking about ethics. You know.... What if?

It's an ethical question.

If YOU KNEW that it was conclusive evidence against the claims of Christianity, and that it would definitely cause many, many to disbelieve.??

There are good days and there are bad days... but through it all God is able!

He can do exceedingly and abundantly above all we could ever ask or imagine.

In the midst of trouble He does hide me... I dont know about you guys! Faithful is our God.

I now know what it means to be set free!

Thank you Jesus!

All religions have different basis's and ideas. They ALL came from SOMEWHERE. What makes one religion more right than the next. This quote should make those stubborn religious people think about their judgement.

"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."
-- Stephen Roberts

Is it possible that all religions were just created by people because they needed something to believe in? Does mankind really need religion to have morals, standards, common sense, etc.? Or do some need religion because they are weak at mind and heart and can't make judgement on their own. What about evolution? It is proven. We just dont know for sure about the beginning of the unvierse. And what about natural selection?

This is not a question for arguement between people of different religions. I want all different opinions from different people. Thanks.

I haven't seen any evidence where islam treats man and women differently, However I see it in other religions.

Please don't give me all that crap about what muslim people do, I can do the samething very easily against non-muslims.

I am talking about religions.

These are just a few examples:

For the last three years I have been trying to have faith - but I'm finding myself resentful expecting guidance or an answer and not finding it.
What do I do to shake this feeling? because if something doesn't change soon, I'm just gonna have to walk away. It's too painfully frustrating. Any advice?

i like to state my religion, i don't believe others veiws, I'm trying to state my points. i think condemning one for their sin is wrong, love the sinner hate the sin.. if these people ask a question about my religion and such I'm OK with answering it, i dislike it when people ask questions for only the point of trying to tell me what i believe is ignorant and wrong. i think what they believe is so, but i have the decency to let them believe as they want. i am tired of atheists telling me I'm ignorant, Muslims telling me I'm intolerant, homosexuals telling me I'm idiotic and any other religions and insults i missed. I believe your beliefs are wrong, but I'm not going to dissuade you from them, so stop insulting my views and I'll refrain from doing so on yours. (by the way the point of asking questions merely for insulting others veiws go to ALL, including christians and athiests alike. )

i am thinking about getting a few tattoos in my lifetime, probably about 3. i don't have any yet and the ones i want to get are going to be reminders of God and my religion because i am a Christian, but if it really is a sin then i might decide not go get them. I think it could be a good way to share your testamony, you know, like if they ask you what your tattoo represents. it's just another thing you could have in common to strike that first chord. i have read that passage in Leviticus 19:28 that says do not cut your bodies for the dead or put a tattoo marks on yourself. I am the Lord. Are there any other passages in the bible that talk about tattoos?

why cant people see that holidays like christmas, easter.....are all pagan holidays that they shouldnt celebrate. i mean, i've seen even athiests who dont "celebrate christmas" but take the presents when given to them. isnt that making them hypocrites. plus, doesnt the bible say in 1st John 4:1 to not believe every expression but to prove them to see if they originate from God?

What is the dirrerence between ancient Christianity and modern Christianity? Who had the right to chage the religion and if there is concrete evidence about the religion why has it changed over time?

2007-03-25 16:25:26 · 14 answers · asked by Kenny K 4

Since Christian means that you put Christ above everything else, while Jehovah's witnesses is a sect devoted specifically to denying the deity of Christ, even to the point of mistranslating biblical verses in their version of the bible that prove the deity of Christ. And how is inserting Jehovah into the bible and making it a casual word showing respect for God's name if it isn't even the real translation and no one would ever dare even to call a king or any important human by their real first name, much less a mistranslation. If Jesus was merely an angel, then it wouln't make sense to base an entire religion on him rather than God, because that would border on idoltary.
