How do you feel about these statements?

I am from the pentacostal faith but i do not attend church right now. Anyhow i am wondering how many of you or the people you know practice this type of thing in church.

I know how they say if you get bitten that god will not allow you to die if you have the holy ghost, spirit in you.
But i know a preacher that handled a rattlesnake and it bite him and he died, they kept saying he wouldn't but he did 3 days after the snake had bit him.
So what do you think about this?
(I see no point in it)

The questioner of the last question I answered apparenlty has selective sight. You all know I've been condemning terrorists and their actions since day one. I wonder why that person has blinders. Anyway, for a refresher, click the link. Terrorism has no place in Islam and 9-11 was committed by culture driven fundies who insulted Islam by claiming to be of it.

I'm in the process of being confirmed as a Catholic and pretty soon I will do my first confession and I was just wondering if it's scary? I like my priest and feel comfortable talking to him, but it really scares me to think about confessing everything I've done. Before I was a Christian (and I guess since then as well, but to a lesser extent) I did some pretty bad things. I don't know how I'm going to be able to confess. Also I was wondering how you feel afterwards? Do you feel really guilty or is it more comforting?

the Lord gave me a dream, of reuniting the churchs under one banner. Millions and millions coming to the lord, The lord with a dream said I'm going to walk on water with U. I will walk in spirit and truth, and the nations will praise the Lords name, before Jesus comes back to take his bride home. I've had visons of millions of Allah followers, changing to christ. I've seen doctors on there face, worshiping. People on the streets shouting prises to the King of Kings. I'm talking a revival like the world has never seen. All a dream given to me in this 6 yr seek(prayer) unto God. Now I'm a crazy person, tons of evil spirits in me, pissed off. I go to chuch I will switch between weeping uncontrolably to demon posseson, serious jerks in my body, like someone is punching me just no pain. I belive strongly all I need to do is ask and recieve, SEEK and ye shall find, ASK and recieve. One church, holy man, and power, and all his rightousness, I pray for over and over.

Thought experiment:

Assumption:
Let's say that Satan is the good guy. He created man and loves them, helping them in their times of need.
But then Yahweh, jealous of Satan, decides to take credit for Satan's work and sends a book down full of propaganda against His rival to lead Man away from Satan.

Question:
Can you prove this is not the case? Would you quote the Bible, which, for all you know, could be full of deception from Yahweh? Wouldn't that be like proving Hitler was right by quoting Nazi Propaganda?

Would you say that you know it is true because you can feel God's love? And yet, how do you know it is not the loving Satan who answers your prayers, whether he takes credit in it or not?

Conclusion:
Perhaps it is not wise to make assumptions of your God from a book which is the "Word of God." I can write a book about how good I am too, but that doesn't make it true.

Is wiser to search for your OWN truth through observation, or to blindly trust another's world-view?

How do you explain that?

I understand that people are curious about the beliefs of others, and have legitimate questions. I even understand that atheists might be curious about Christianity and other belief systems, and that people of faith might have questions about atheism.
What I don't get is how or why people seem to feel threatened by other people's beliefs? Would it harm the atheist if the Christian child sings "Jesus loves me" in school? Would it harm the Christian if Pagans got to put their religious symbol on their dead loved one's graves? Would it harm straight people if gay folks got the same property rights as straight people, or would gay people be harmed if they were made to keep their affection behind closed doors? How does a Muslim woman in her hajib hurt you, personally? Sure, these ideas may be strange to you, but so what? Unless someone actually has a sword at your throat or a gun to your head, how is their religion threatening you?
Explain please?

Regardless of whether or not you believe in Heaven;

will you be judged and punished if you have been a mean person while on Earth?

For example, on this chat group, if you enjoy hurting other people's feelings, do you really think you can get away with it?

I'm fascinated by music of different religions, and how they all seem to have a different "spirit." Jewish music sounds, well, Jewish! It has an ancient sound and it conjures up images of the ancient Temple or something to me. I hear in much Christian music the mood of being in utter awe at the Divine, who is far greater than anything the human could ever be. In Hindu music, I hear a very strong sense of devotion, and closeness to the Divine, as a friend.

I'm just curious if anyone else feels that religious music reflects religious doctrine in some ways.

If God is such a great creator why wouldn't he just have made some extra earth. He could even have done it during creation and just set it aside.
Or is God really not real.

for considering homosexuality wrong? Ignorant means that I am ignoring or overlooking some fact but to my knowledge their are no facts proving homosexuality is moral. Don't get me wrong I don't think we should treat gays any differently than anyone else but if they ask me I'll let them know what I think just like when an alcoholic friend asks me if I think he is living a bad lifestyle I say yes, while still treating him respectively. Does loving the sinner mean I have to approve of his sin as well?
