Am I the only one who is tired of being called ignorant...?

Question

for considering homosexuality wrong? Ignorant means that I am ignoring or overlooking some fact but to my knowledge their are no facts proving homosexuality is moral. Don't get me wrong I don't think we should treat gays any differently than anyone else but if they ask me I'll let them know what I think just like when an alcoholic friend asks me if I think he is living a bad lifestyle I say yes, while still treating him respectively. Does loving the sinner mean I have to approve of his sin as well?

Thats my point though is that many misunderstand what ignorant means. It comes from the root word of ignore and so the burden is on you to show me something I am ignoring.

If you must know though I base my belief on the fact that God considers it to be wrong. He created sex as a gift (a great one at that) but only for those who are in a marriage because heterosexual marriage is where babies come from in case you forgot.

No, the bible says that we should love the sinner, not the sin. You have no obligation to agree with anyones lifestyle, but as long as you don't treat them poorly because of it, you are not being ignorant. You are entitled to your opinion, and it sounds to me like you are not ignorant at all.

From what I've heard and seen, homosexuality is a genetic thing. What 'facts' are you using to make the judgement that its morally incorrect? As far as I'm aware, all the consequences of a homosexual lifestyle are the same as a heterosexual one so perhaps if you are judging it, you are overlooking some fact or another. Something like alcoholism has proven over time to have a negative physical impact on an individual but homosexuality has no different consequences as heterosexual activity.

Ignorant means lacking knowledge of something. Your knowledge of that something is not sufficient, not enough to convince the other party from believing that you have the knowledge about it.

Do not hesitate to accept the fact that you lack the knowledge about homosexuality condition of a certain person because you have considered it to be wrong.There is nothing wrong about homosexuality of a certain person. That is how he was created by God.When you say that it is wrong, who are you to question God for making that person to be homosexual?

So you are really ignorant about his condition. You despising him of his being homosexual person. It is of big difference to a drunken man because the drunken man was not born drunk unlike the homosexual person who was born on that way. Remember that there is big difference between despise and comments. That is your comments on the drunken person while your comments to the Homosexuality of a person is to despise him of his being born, the condition of his being born.

By loving the sinner, it means you love his person, his body but you do not like his being a sinner. You do not love his sin but you love him personally and the remedy for the solution, you must stop him from sinning to show that you love him. okay?

What exactly did homosexuals ever do to hurt you? Can you cite any reason not based on religion or fear why homosexuality should be considered wrong? Do you know any gay people? It seems to me that current attitudes towards gays in America are a lot like pre-1950's white attitudes towards blacks (I am a straight, white person). In the past, the bible was used to justify racial prejudice just as it is now being used against gays (read the story of Ham, Noah's black son). Science has demonstrated that a significant percentage of individuals in nearly all species of higher animals engage in homosexual or bisexual conduct, and humans are no different. But if sociobiology isn't your thing, think about this- if all the evidence is wrong and there really is a god, why would he concern himself/herself/itself with such a trivial matter as gay sex, when there are galaxies to destroy and other works to be done?

The problem is that there are no facts indicating that homsexuality is NOT moral, and to be unaware of this constitutes ignorance. Moral codes derive from evolution, which applies to societies as well as to species: a society which lives by a sound moral code will survive preferably to one that does not. Since homosexuality has no effects on any part of society other than its direct practitioners, it is not a moral issue.

--You are right you do not have to have any liking for the filth , sin, wrong etc.-- and still have agape' principled love(in that we would not do any harm to such one) for the homosexual.

--WHAT MORE of a judgement is needed to say the SODOMY of our modern day sodomites is indeed UNACCEPTABLE TO GOD OR CHRIST?
