Yes god did it in the Bible. The bears ate the kids, and god said something like, let that be a lesson to you other brats.
Back then god didn't wait for people to die and go to Hell, he wanted to punish them immediately sometimes.
And he didn't care if you were old or young, if you pissed him off you were done for.
