Somebody To Love
by Jefferson Airplane

When the truth is found to be lies
and all the joys within you dies
don't you want somebody to love
don't you need somebody to love
wouldn't you love somebody to love
you better find somebody to love

The Bible states that we who belong to Christ are Christians,

Man started separating religion to fit what they believe.
Now we have Catholics, Baptist, Lutheran, Mormons, Methodist, etc.

Each one of these religions have different beliefs one way or another, and all want to be right.

Some believe in the Trinity, some don't. Some believe Jesus is the Son of God, some don't. Some believe in statues, some don't. Some believe in the Rapture, some don't.

There is no separation. One God. One Faith.

The Disciples and Paul never taught bits and pieces of the Gospel to different people.

Paul said "If we, even angels from heaven should preach a different Gospel other than the Gospel we preach let him be eternally condemned. (Gal. 1:8)

Christianity was never meant to be separated.

I am a Christian.
It's not about religion, it's about Christ.

True Christianity (for lack of a better term) is a Christianity that follows the teachings of Jesus Christ as documented in the New Testament.

Cultural manifestations of Christianity can be different (depending on the local culture).

Sometimes individuals arise who try to change the core teachings of Christianity, but when they do so the end up creating a new religion or a cult (or sect).

Cordially,

The basics of the faith are there and are transmitted by both the bible, and the oral traditions of the church know as "holy tradition". Some Protestant groups ignore these truths and look only to the Bible and use translations that are not correct. Over time, with more discoveries and knowledge, biblical scholars have been able to produce a more correct translation and in a modern language that most people can understand. It is true that some churches that have only been around for 500 years or so threw out a lot of the traditions that came down to us from the early church.

First of all, Christianity isn't really a religion or denomination.

"Ancient Christianity" = The Catholic Church
"Modern Christianity" = The Catholic Church

All other denominations (besides Eastern Orthodoxy) sprang up in the 16th century.

The Catholic Church is the historical Church, the Church Christ founded. None of her doctrines have changed.

After the death of Jesus' original 12 apostles, the church fell into a period of apostasy. It started gradually, but over centuries,it spread and became practically universal-what was known as christianity for centuries was a largely a mixture of pagan beliefs/practices,human philosophy/ytraditions, and adulterated versions of some christian beliefs/practices.(Most churches still adhere to these same errors today!) The true church was eventually restored, with the same teachings and practices as the original being progressively revealed over time. This was done by God through the prophet Joseph Smith and this church is known as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! Don't take my or anyone else's word for it though-either pro or con-investigate it for yourself, and ask Heavenly Father,in the name of Jesus Christ,if it be true-He will give you the answers you truly seek!

There shouldn't be any change from the original teachings of Christ, but there are, like...

Catholic confession (Jesus told us to ask for forgiveness from GOD, not some guy that so happens to be a priest, priests don't have God's powers)

Infant Baptism (There wasn't one baby baptism mentioned in the bible, and you are not going to go to hell just because you didn't get a few drips on your forehead, Jesus said, "Only by faith, you are saved")

The message of Christianity is spelled out plainly in the new testament. The new testament teaches you how to be a Christian, not tradition, old or new. If you want to be a Christian follow the laws of Jesus Christ... live like he has instructed you to... people make it much harder than it really is.
