Once in a while when my husband has done something that really hurts my feelings. Yeah, sometimes I try for revenge. But it's usually all in vain as he's pretty impenetrable to sarcasm and insults.

When I was a kid, I used to try to hurt peoples' feelings just to see how they would react. I didn't feel bad about it then, but I did once I was older. Although, it was much too late for apologies. Where does that bad feeling come from? I'm not sure. But from an evolutionary perspective, I'm sure remorse has always helped people get along a whole lot better than if we were a bunch of psychopaths.

They get offended when I least expect it. And when that happens, I feel surprised every time. I guess sometimes I say things that are too trutful or to the point and not notice it. When I think of it afterwards, I can see it. And then I usually feel sorry. To have hurt unintentionally.
But intentionally - I know that I have tried, just to get even, but not succeeded. My attempts went unnoticed. Bummer!

EDIT
(I didn't realize you said 'do', I thought you said 'did'.)
In the past, yes. Yes, but not immediately. The sense of guilt arises from the understanding that I have violated. There is natural guilt that is accompanied by an understanding of the others position and a sense of mercy toward those we hurt, and there is artificial guilt that says you are unworthy and condemned. It has no mercy or understanding to enlighten you. Another name for it is 'shame'.

No. Never that is not who I am or what I would want to make anyone feel. I would hope I would make people feel appreciated and special. I am sure it has happened but never because I did it out of malice. And the times I do recall being aware of hurting someone Yes, I was always very sorry.

No, I don't "try" to hurt anyone's feelings. It's just that we live in a society where people have become so "sensitive" and easily "offended" that I sometimes wonder if it's worth it at all to speak to anyone face-to-face. That's probably why I come to this forum.

i never try to hurt anyone. i know that i have because i tend to be pretty blunt. if someone asks for my opinion, or i'm in a discussion it can happen.
it also depends on who i'm talking to. i know a couple of people that i really have to temper what i'm saying because they're so sensitive (my sister for one).
if i do hurt someone i feel bad, because i really don't want to do that.
i think that the reason most of us feel bad is that we have a conscious. whether you want to call it a collective consciousness or basic morality it's the thing inside us that makes most people want to do the right thing.

No I dont try to hurt anyone......but I admit when someone makes me angry I sometimes cant swallow my anger and say things back that will make them even more angry. Kind of dumb but yeah I feel sorry afterwards and try to make up for it.

No, but there is a difference between intentionally trying to hurt someone and giving an answer which you believe to be true and yet know may hurt.
