Some fo the nastiest and most hateful people i've ever known are "church people" the love of my life was a missionary's kid who was a pathological lier and who now sits in her church groups and trys to pretend that our 2 year relationship didnt exist. She talks about she never had a bf before, even tho we were engaged for almost 18 months. Even people who knew us both just sit and listen without standin up and calling Bu11sh1t! She seems typlcal for "Christians" tho. Whats up with that?

On both sides!

Christians have their New World Order nonsense, and thanks to the Da Vinci code, the non-believers have all this Jesus was married crap.

Are the extremes making it harder for those who aren't to be friends?

Everyday I come to yahoo answers and read things about Mormons, everyday I laugh so hard. Today was the funniest when someone who is obviously got their information wrong, stated that the LDS church SECRETLY practices blood atonement, oh and apparently our property become their property whenever they please, and we are a Satanic cult. Anything else? I really find this amusing! Why don't just stick with polygamy, you can actually get somewhere with that! Personally I do not go around claiming to know things about other churches....sad others have to. Adversary, without what fun would we have?

There is a long-standing tradition in the Christian faith - and especially in the early Greek church - that all human souls may eventually be reconciled with God (this is called apokatastasis). According to this theory, hell is not eternal, and God's mercy will in the end prevail over even God's judgement. I am aware that various forms of this doctrine emerged in the Middle Ages as well, although the main current of Augustinian theology tended to be against it. Today, it tends - rather dismissively - to be dubbed "Universalism".

Looking at the various enthusiasts for Hell on this site (and some of you are just disturbing), I am reminded that we can only speculate about the world to come, and even that on the basis of pretty flimsy scriptural evidence. But I'll stick my neck out and ask: can we legitimately hope that all souls will be welcomed into the presence of God? And if not, why not?

feel when we pray for the redemption of their souls and hope that some day the love of Christ will arise from their hearts to fill them with the peace they are longing for?

I know of no atheist who isn't angry at Christianity. I observe on Yahoo Answers that most who mock Christianity do so with sarcasm and belligerance. This is the same attitude held by those who persecuted Christians. Can an atheist explain the constant deep seated anger against Christianity?

In the span of 2 hours today, this word came up 3 times in conversation. Once was by me saying that the high of 45 degrees today was "perfect". (for March in upstate NY, it is)

This has made me think of what I would actually define as "perfect" in life, and because I'm having a tough time wrapping my mind around that I thought I would present the question to you. Is there anything in your life that you would describe as "perfect"? And how does your answer earn that distinction?

Would you still believe?

Let's say God said only those who murder a human being (one that's been born already) without repentence go to Hell. Everyone else, the gays, the skeptics, those who've had an abortion or two, and yes, even those who (gasp) understand the Theory of Evolution, goes to Heaven.

Would you still want to be a Christian?
