but the amazing part is, they choose to live in a really UGLY fantasy world.
A world where not toeing the line means eternal torture. A world where having your own opinion means damnation. A world ruled by a tryanical, ruthless, and cruel God.
Its beyond me why they choose this. I suspect its because it justifies their hatred of themselves and their fellow man.

Just in case you're ever on a game show and the subject comes up, the word is spelled "fantasy."
And no, I think we have a good, clear grasp on reality. We have a purpose in life, which is to love and serve our Lord Jesus Christ . We have a goal, and that is to make the world a better place for all.
We use specific methods to achieve our goal: charitable projects, donations of money, and volunteering our time to help others. We lead peaceful and joyful lives because we know that what we are doing is pleasing to God at the same time that it is helping others.
We don't spend our lives in an aimless search for meaning and purpose because we already know why we're here. And when we die, we know that we have nothing to fear, so we don't waste our time in worry and turmoil.
Sounds like a pretty practical and realistic way to life to me.

Everyone's living in a fantasy world. We can't fit the entire universe in our head, so we make our own copies of it and use them.
