Everyday I come to yahoo answers and read things about Mormons, everyday I laugh so hard. Today was the funniest when someone who is obviously got their information wrong, stated that the LDS church SECRETLY practices blood atonement, oh and apparently our property become their property whenever they please, and we are a Satanic cult. Anything else? I really find this amusing! Why don't just stick with polygamy, you can actually get somewhere with that! Personally I do not go around claiming to know things about other churches....sad others have to. Adversary, without what fun would we have?

The adversary just works through them to get at us who are trying to help people on here.

Some people dont actually know anything and are commenting or relaying what they have heard.

Everyone on here knows the spirit of contention is not of are lord and if they are being negative it is on there heads.

We are firm believers in our lord Jesus Chirst and believe and hope for all things that are good.

We love all and pray for those who act in a unchristlike manner that God will help them to learn of his true church.

I testify that we have a real and living prophet and God revelates to one church and we aswell have further scripture.
If there was a book that has a account of 2500 people who saw christ I think I would at least glance at it.

"He who says he has enough is cut of from the presence of God" For those who say we have are bible.

And just for further reference the book of mormon is not another bible but a testimont of christ.

The bible says nowhere that God will not revelate or reveal anymore scripture to us. The bible says not to add to those specific books. Not that there will be no more books.
For those who will quote revelation 2.

Here are articles of faith read them before you comment on what we believe.

We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.

2 We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression.

3 We believe that through the atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.

4 We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

5 We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof. (See Priesthood Organization home page)

6 We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.

7 We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth. (See Gifts of the Spirit)

8 We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.

9 We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God. (See Prayer, Fasting, and Revelation home page)

10 We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory. (See Second Coming of Jesus Christ home page)

11 We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may. (See Politics: Political Teachings; Tolerance)

12 We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law. (See Teachings About Law home page)

13 We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul--We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

For some of us, we were involved with the church in question. For others, it is hearsay they are repeating.
I was a Mormon when I was a child, and I know they do not practice blood atonement. Or at least not the the 3 temples I was in and in 2 different states.

Random reading. I get my information from web-sites, and when I was 4 or 5 I announced to my parents that I was Atheist.

Satanic cults don't work with blood, that would be silly. That's the Luciferians.

I know what Mormons believe, and I choose not to follow their doctrines. I have a simple life.

I make a point of trying to get at least three types of opinions about a major religion - one from a true believer, one from some unbiased source, and one from a hater. You can usually glean what is true and what is not with a wide enough set of opinions and assertions.

That being said, I remember being at my girlfriend's church's annual picnic when the topic of discussion was the marriage of someone's daughter to (GASP!) a Muslim. I didn't hear the "Did you know you worship a moon god?" question that pops up so often here, but a lot of similarly ill-intentioned and/or misinformed chatter went on.

It's Wiccan, honestly. There are tons of books you'll get approximately spells and such, however watch out there is a LOT of incorrect information available in the market approximately the Wiccan faith. The foremost factor is to observe that it's NOT all approximately spells, and isn't approximately getting what you wish, opposite to widespread consider. A spell is like an lively prayer. But rather of being passive, Witches count on matters from their Gods/Goddesses, adding recognize, up to we must recognize them! Wicca is like every other faith, you get out of it what you set into it. It is a major faith, once more, now not a shaggy dog story, to get what you wish, so do not get into in if that is what you count on. (now not that you simply do) Anyway, there are lots of books available in the market, however earlier than you learn a unmarried publication approximately spells and rituals, you have to learn "The Philosophy of Wicca" and "The Circle Within" so you'll have an understanding of what the truly faith is approximately. You must additionally research Buddhism, a lot of Wiccan philosophy is followed from Buddhist notion. Good good fortune for your seek, Blessed Be.

I was just reading that post. She got most of her information from Ed Decker and the late "Dr." Walter Martin. Decker is a sensationalist, and the really sad thing is, that Martin and others get THEIR information from Decker and others like him. But, Decker is just a sad, sorry little man. Martin told lies (one was that he was a direct descendant of Brigham Young!) so much that you don't even want to believe a thing that came out of his mouth.

But, there are those out there who WANT to believe that crap. And, of course, if they WANT to believe it, and there's someone who says it's the truth, then it's true, and they certainly aren't going to let something as stupid as facts get in the way.

Hey, on Yahoo! Answers, you're not allowed to answer your own question. That's exactly what you did when you mentioned the adversary. Thank you very much.

I usually research them online. I have had quite a lot of education on other world belief systems. I also have some friends of those world beliefs that I consult. These are the sites I use and consider fair and open-minded.

You're right, its rediculous.

At least they don't accuse Mormons of wearing magic underwear, or becoming the deities of other planets when they die, or thinking that Jesus came to America and Indians are really Jews!

Cause that would be ignorant as well. (Sorry, couldn't resist. I'll give myself a thumbs down)
