Absolutey. I hate to see intolerance from any one, regardless of thier religion or lack thereof. We should be learning by comparing notes, and seeing where the different philosophies meet. It's too bad that some people aren't emotionally or spiritually mature enough to handle it.

I think you're seeing why that would never happen. Christians CAN'T leave others alone. If they were to back off, I could care less what they do with their own lives. Its why I don't generally argue with other religions, because those religions know not to bug people about their religion.
But the Christians are told to "spread the word" and seem to think everyone in the rest of the world should live by what THEY do. And they will push it.
If they back off, I'm happy to live and let live. But it won't happen because its not in Christianity to allow that.

It seems to me that no one bothers Christians at all until they start trying converting everyone around them When Christians refer to themselves as Christians, they often do so in a way that makes them out to be elite. Also Christians are fond of telling others that they will go to hell if they don't believe. If Christians kept their mouth shut and just had a personal relationship with their God and then lived a good example...people would be running up to them asking them for what they got. However, when Christians make themselves out to be better than others and tell others that they will go to hell no matter how good the other person is...then it is somehow predicable that non Christians will sniff out this hypocrisy and give Christians a hard time. I feel that Christians bring on their misery with all their preaching. It's like their trying convince themselves of what they believe by getting others to believe in the same myths.

That would be one of the best days ever but sadly, I dont see that happening. It would be virtiually impossible for the Christians o leave the non christians alone. Pretty much everywhere you go today you see, or are involved with, somthing having to do with religion. It cant be avoided.
Even on YA, this is the R&S board. religious people come here to express their views. That wont stop either. So, we nonchristians have to be here to try to keep everything fair.

Are there Christians who don't try and push their beliefs onto others? I have not experienced that yet.
I do not push my beliefs on others, people can believe anything they want. It is up to the individual to decide what they feel in their own soul.
My parents are Christians and they (as well as other christians) act like their belief is THE ONLY WAY.
And that is wrong. I hate when they act like that, like I am wrong and they are so right. It is bullshit.
It is sad that people can't just believe what they want, and have respect for others beliefs as well, even if you don't agree with them.
It appears that non religious people end up being the more open minded gentle people.
go figure!

Without differences of opinion, this category would be like a bunch of people sitting in the back row of church acting like good Christians. There would be no fun at all without a good debate.
Besides, Christians just overflow into Tattoos, Gay & Lesbian and other places they aren't welcome just to tell people they are going to hell, so why should I let them be?
I see where you're going with this, and some of it gets WAY old at times, but all it takes is for one of God's lemmings spouting off some mindless drivel as if it were fact to get me involved. Since that won't ever stop, I will have to decline your offer.

I leave them alone anyway. The Jehovas Witnesses that keep coming to my door are still afraid. I don't mean to scare them. They have power over what they do. What if I opened up the door with a double barrel? Whatever I am nice. They will never stop being right. hahhhahahh

Well I think all religions try to push their believes on everyone else, but some are more violent about it than others. Some preach love one another, others preach kill the infidel. But yes it would be a better world if we all just respected each others beliefs. One of my heros is a Christian lady who runs a day care for Muslim kids in an area where the Muslims are not well liked. She doesn't preach, just shows by example what a true follower of Christ is like. She also has the respect of the Muslim community and its leaders, but its because she respects them as well..

They'd have to stop trying to legislate their beliefs too. No more gay-bashing. No more Ten Commandments in public buildings. No more prayer in school. No more laws against prostitution and gambling. No more censorship by the FCC. No more public officials saying that only a believer in God is a true citizen. Plus, we'd have to get "In God We Trust" and "Under God" stricken totally.
That's just for starters.

Hey, you are never going to get a random group of people to agree. I was tired of it too, so I stoped asking silly questions and I have stopped answer questions that are redundant.
