Atheists who come to the Religious category are only showing a contradiction of terms and only serve to re-enforce the faith of beleivers as we have already been warned of people such as these?

Can a Christian be for the death penalty?

The Bible says, Thou shalt not kill.

Should God have added something to that commandment like, "except for death penalty cases"?

I know that GOD Himself killed millions of people and commanded the Children of Israel to slaughter men women and children throughout Jewish History, and to make tons of animal sacrifices, but do you think that it would have been better if God had said, "Thou shalt not Murder?"

But I know you cannot change the Bible, because the Bible says that anyone who changes the Bible should be killed...

So can we kill insane murderers or not?

How about witches and homosexuals, like the Bible says to do? Are we supposed to read the ten commandments and then later read the things that contradict the earlier things and just go with the "latest" information?

Does Y!A's really give people violations and deactivate accounts just cuas one,two or a few people get offended at what another says on here?I mean come on,if they do that, than technically everybody probably needs to be deactivated;cuase as many people there are in the world&on this site;there's bound to always be at least one person that is offended or not exactly comfortable by someone elses opinion about something.
My account was deactivated,&I had absolutely no idea it was deactivated(cuase I hadnt been on in a few days);&I still dont know the reason for it being deactivated.Does anyone else get deactivated for unknown reasons?Or is it just me?I've gotten violations before(like most everybody else)but none has ever risen to a level of being worth deactivation.
Again, does Y!A's really give violations&deactivations just cuase a few people complain about they're not comfortable with womeone elses questions or answers?

What was the reason you became a Christian if you weren't born into a Christian family. And if you were and have always considered yourself a Christian, why do you remain a Christian?

I have deep sorrow in my heart for the people on the face of this earth that say they to do not believe in god. I pray that the lord will touch each and every one of your hearts. I pray that he will have mercy on your soul. Who could have created a world that is so perfect but god. who awakens you in the morning, it surely is not your alarm clocks. GIVE ME ONE REASON WHY U SHOULD NOT SERVE THE LORD AND PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME?

Galatians 6:2 says "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ." We are going through Galatians in my high school small group for church. I am helping with the lesson on Sunday. We're studying Galatians 6:1-10. I am studying one verse a night in preparation so I can really have time to think about it all. What different ways do you think we can "bear one another's burdens"? The main way I can think of is just by being there for that person and listening to them. Even if you don't have all the answers, you can still be there for them and hear them out. What else do you think of when you hear "bear one another's burdens"? Any input would be awesome! THANKS!

They might be "forced" into: saying they believe or pretending to believe.

I am interested to read your thoughts.

Evolution is a scientific explanation on how life developed on Earth. It has no bearing on why it developed. The why is best left in the field of philosophy and theology. The how is best in the field of science.

Why do people always try to mix the two?

My pastor said to not read other books than the Bible.

I didn't know that there was any other book. I have been homeschooled and have never seen any other book. My parents havenever mentioned any other book and I have always been taught to never listen to anything other than Christian people.

We live in West Virginia and is it true that any book other than the Bible is from the Devil, because the Bible is perfect, and nothing else can be perfect.

Anything that detracts from God is sin, right? I was wondering how many books are out there besides the Bible?

I am at my uncle's house and he has a computer and I didn't know you could go here and ask questions! It's fun.

My husband and I have a set of friends we invite over regularly. The other day they wanted to talk seriously, which wasn't the problem. They asked how serious we were in our faith and if they could hold us accountable for our actions. I didn't see us doing anything wrong but, obviously they did! I'm a Christian who is searching in my life and find nothing wrong with asking questions. That is the only way to find answers! They also had a problem with the fact that I have a statue of a buddha in my home and thought that maybe I was a hippocrite. (the statue, by the way, is a piece of artwork to me and acts as a candle holder) What was their problem or were they just judging?

Ok, so I've read alot of answers on here from Christians and Atheists both and I've got to ask something. Let me just say right now that I'm not trying to offend anyone in asking this, I'm just curious. Alot of the answers I've read from Atheists have stated that God today is portrayed by the Christians to be a hateful God, and how Christians do awful things in His name. Now my question is what has made you think that? What event, what happened to give you that opinion. There is a quote that I really like and pertains. "God is peace, like calm water. But it only takes one person to throw a stone in and make the water muddy." Just because some Christians have done bad things in the name of Christ doesn't mean He condones it. In ANY religion there are extremists that do bad things. How can you assume(and I don't mean all atheists because I know not all assume this) that just because some Christians do bad things that all do? What makes you think God, or Christians are hateful?

Not the real Jesus, the one Christians have built up an image around.

BOth are protrayed as moody and arrogant by their stories although they may have been nice(if they were real). "the whole world revolves around me/follow me or go to hell." Both were of "virgin birth." Both die painfully. Anakin dies on Mustafar...Vader is born. Christ dies on the cross...Christianity is born.

Choose Obi-Wan. He's more like Buddha. Time for me to go to bed, 11:45.

I am not Mormon bashing here. I am simply trying to educate myself about the LDS faith. Lots of religious leaders claim to converse with God but none seem to know how to make a Prophecy. Wouldnt it have been nice if God told one of His "Prophets" about 9-11, or the 2004 Tsunami or Hurricane Katrina? Usually they just make up some lame excuse that their job is to lead or teach instead of making Prophecies. Or when they do make a Prophecy it is so vague or generalized that it could mean just about anything.

Christians are fond of saying that God created Hell because it shows us that there are consequences for our actions.

They continue, and say that it's like our love for our children. If we really love them, we will punish them so they will be better people.

But would we punish them eternally?

And further, would it be love, if we created a place for our children (whom you created) of eternal torment?

What if our children were rebellious? Would we then, allow them to be tormented, and eternally burned and tortured and eventually annihilated in a lake of fire, because they were rebellious.

Does unconditional love exist? Should it? I've heard some parents say that nomatter what their child did, they would always love them and try to help them.

You say that the child won't accept the help?

But would you then create a Hell for your child? Would you kill your child? Did God create Hell?
