Christians are fond of saying that God created Hell because it shows us that there are consequences for our actions.
They continue, and say that it's like our love for our children. If we really love them, we will punish them so they will be better people.
But would we punish them eternally?
And further, would it be love, if we created a place for our children (whom you created) of eternal torment?
What if our children were rebellious? Would we then, allow them to be tormented, and eternally burned and tortured and eventually annihilated in a lake of fire, because they were rebellious.
Does unconditional love exist? Should it? I've heard some parents say that nomatter what their child did, they would always love them and try to help them.
You say that the child won't accept the help?
But would you then create a Hell for your child? Would you kill your child? Did God create Hell?

Christians thats a problem with your first question. Its just a title. God created Hell for Lucifer and his fallen angels.
God gives you a choice you can either serve Him or Satan. He dont punish us eternally. We choose that path.
No but you must discipline. Look at our schools and kids today. There is no discipline. I use to get whacked at school when I did something wrong and at home. Today parents will sue the school and kids can file child abuse if a parent disciplines them.
Bottom line is this. God created Hell for Lucifer and his fallen angels we know as demons. You can choose to go to Heaven or hell. The choice is up to you. Salvation is easier than 1,2,3. All it takes is faith. God will do the rest. Amen and Peace out...............

Your question shows that you do not understand what "righteousness" is. God is unable to accept anything that is not righteous. He's funny that way. It is not his desire that any of his children spend eternity in hell. (away from him) That is why he sent Jesus...to give people a very simple and easy out of that possibility.
Yes, unconditional love does exist. For humans and for God. I love my children more than I could say but if they constantly beat me, swore at me and hurt me no matter how good a parent I was being, they would be out of here. I would still love them, but they would be gone.
People who do not believe in God are not simply being rebellious. Children eventually grow up and we know that when they do, they will change. Unfortunately, those who do not believe usually do not grow out of it. Not the same thing at all.
I do not know if God created Hell but if he did and if he feels that someone has hurt him and others enough, yes I think he is justified in whatever he decides to do with them.

Yes, I do believe unconditional love exists, and I believe most of have that for our children. I also don't believe that kind of hell exists. All I believe is that we can love and cherish our children as much as possible. If they are wrong, then we, as parents, should be able to punish them. But punish them in the here and now...not the everafter.

I would Punish my child "if" I had any that is cause now days the "law" states that if a "child" is hurt by there parent is consider "child abuse" to me THATS wrong...YOU gotta "punish" the child because they did something wrong.
1. if the child is lieing
2. messbehaving
3. got an 'F" in school
4. broken your vase or other Objects
5. back talking you by saying go F*** off.
6. cussing you
7. found out that your child had a "fight" with another kid.
like those, but now days when kids watch TV its like, monkey see...monkey do stuff.
hell a kid can lie to get his father or mother into trouble wont let them have this and that...and then the cops come and Arrest you all because that little b****** didnt get his or her way.
BAD law to have IMO.
Parents has the right to "punish" a child..NOT by fist...NOT by a bullwhip...but by his hand on his bottom.

I wouldn't create a hell for my children and I don't believe that God would create a hell for His.But both of us would create one for the Devils kids.Hope that helps you, I just really feel that your looking for the truth.
By the way, What do you think of how children are treating their parents these days.I always thought that they were supposed to love and honor them. What a shame.

No decent person would perpetrate excessive punishment upon the children they love. Nor would they let them die of cancer or aids if they could possibly do anything to help them. Nor would they let them starve. Or be sexually abused and murdered. Or so many other evil things that happen to innocent babies and children (and adults for that matter).
I wouldn't allow such things if I could prevent them. No decent human being would. So why does God? I wonder...
ADDED: It is sad to read so many answers that blame evil on those who suffer it ("you make the choice..." etc.). What a pathetic and heartless attitude, to blame suffering on those who suffer.

I am SO sick of these people who say "it's not up to God, it's up to you." Your analogy fits perfectly here. You don't take your 5-year-old and say, "I love you unconditionally, but if you don't do as I say I will put you in the oven and crank it up to Broil.... it's your choice."
When you have such an imbalance of power, there really isn't any such thing as "choice."
My 3-year-old preschool class has more compassion and intelligence than that concept of god. Wouldn't we expect our deities to be superior in compassion and love to a three-year-old?
Yet another logical proof that the Christian God does not exist.

Yes this God created hell.
The sad reality is a lot of Christian do say they would kill their own child if God told them to do it. I'm sure if those people could eternally torture their child because a God told them to that they would do it.
It's sick I know but that's one reason why I hate the religion.
The only difference between someone today killing their child because God told them to and someone thousands of years ago doing it is this. WE KNOW THE PERSON TODAY IS CRAZY! If it's in the bible oh that was really God saying it! CRAP THOSE PEOPLE WERE CRAZY TOO!

"It is the will of the Father that none should perish." Hell is eternal separation from God. God doesn't want anyone to be eternally separated from Himself, but He's not going to force Himself on anyone.
If my child grows up and decides for himself that he wants nothing to do with me, I can't force him.

Of course not. My children are welcome any time , any place. I will love them and if necessary forgive them for any transgression. They will not have to ask.
If you are talking about God, don't worry about it. He is not nearly as bad as some think.
Also don't take it so literal. And above all, don't give anyone but God credit for his teaching.
