Ok, now that I am back from a very peaceful sleep, and a very long one (12 hours, wow!), I want to know something. What do you think of the fact that in Islam, it's not the woman's duty to cook and clean or even care for the children? What do you think of the fact that the so called islamic countries ignore Islam and take their culture as religion instead and tell men it's shameful for them to help their wives in any way, shape, or form? I was talking with my sisters in law last night and they told me that if they were to even ask their husbands to hold the children so they could eat their food, the men would think it was shameful. They told me, because they knew that when I was married to a Pakistani man, I told him he needed to leave his culture out of the religion and didn't stand for that nonsense. They wanted to konw how I did it, and I point blank told them that I showed him it was Islamic and that he was going to give me my rights whether he liked it or not.

Just curious, if you believe there is no God, why do you try so hard to prove He doesn't exist? Why do you come into the spiritual room? Do you think you are going to change our minds? I see more atheists on here being hateful than the Christians.....

In Psalm 119, the longest chapter of the Bible, David repeatedly prays for God to enlarge his heart, to incline his heart, to unite his heart to 'keep God's commandments' ending with a cry, a plea for God to help his servant who strayed like a lost sheep

why would a man who was known for a great heart have to pray like that? or is it a lesson for us of something lest we end up like 'the Grinch' with 'a heart two sizes too small'

i am a christian and i had an interesting conversation with a muslim about his faith, because i was very interested about what it is exactly that they believe. one thing that he said to me really stood out... he was telling me about how they believe that whether you are a christian or a muslim... hindu or any other religion you go to heaven... but according to my faith... the only way to heaven is through a relationship with Jesus Christ. so if this is the case with muslims... why dont they all just become christians... cos whoever is right... theyd end up going to heaven anyway!

I have a new friend who just came from another country and is learning English, he's Catholic and likes to go to mass. However, he's lost when it comes to say the prayers in English and the responses that need to be said during mass. Can somebody please help me help him?

Accordingly, the Catholic faiths are managed by an Anti-Christ. My Children are enrolled in one of those finest Catholic schools. Am I receiving the mark of the beast in my forehead?

I'm a Christian, but I've been noticing that many Christians will defend something to the death that they don't understand.

For example, Luke 23:46 says Jesus' last words were "Father, I trust my sprirt with your hands"

But Mark 15:34 says his last words were, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

It's stuff like that I don't understand, and when I ask questions, people either say I'm an atheist, it's not for us to understand, or "you just gotta have faith," whatever the f*ck that means.

So what I'm asking is why do Christians accept all the contradictions of the Bible and refuse to acknowledge them? Proverbs 2:3 says to always search for understanding, but when I do, I only get met with hostility from other Christians.

Assuming the only faith in a God you have (like hundreds of millions worldwide) is church on a Sunday...

If you go to church, do you go because you actually have faith in a God and want to praise that God or do you just go because your supposed to?

Many people who claim to have faith in a God have false faith. A handed down 'we have to go to church this morning' faith.

Maybe alot of these faithful are unworthy, deserve nothing and should just stop going altogether.

Sorry friends, I know this may appear as a very strange question. But I am just curious of the answer.

We NRIs have much more love and respect for Hinduism than the native Hindus of India. We not only appreciate our religion much more but the majority of NRIs actually worship on a regular basis. For us NRIs, the practice of Hinduism is a concomitant part of being Indian.

Whereas for the majority of Hindus in India, Hinduism means very little. They have no love, repsect or appreciation for Hinduism. Moreover they feel that they very practice of Hinduism is something that only "nerds" and "Geeks" do. I have a great deal of family in India, and they only actually pay their respects to a Hindu deity whenever they have an exam or an interview. Whereas for NRIs Hinduism is becoming more important, in India Hinduism seems to be declining ever so fast.
My Question is:

Why is it that NRIs have MORE LOVE AND RESPECT FOR HINDUISM THAN THE NATIVES OF INDIA???

humanity & be at peace ?

I am searching for a place & point in MY life where I can be at peace but have yet to find it. Honestly,I am not sure if
Christianity is the place for me. What would you do ?

I believe in a lot of things & I think I have a lot of "faith" but God, Jesus,Christianity,& religion are the biggest mystery & confusion for me. When I read "the word of God",I get depressed & feel like I am worthless. I was told this was the place to go to find peace & the proper living of life, but if I have to be depressed & literally feel worthless every time I read it, I prefer to just stay away.

I was reared Catholic,I don't want to offend anyone, but Catholicism is a joke to me.The church has offended me into having no faith at all.To many lying, hypercritical, abusive people for me.I have & still do on occasion visit other churches, for me I have come to believe I Do Not have to go to a man made building to talk with God or have a relationship with him if that is what I choose.

The nastiest things that are said to me in my life are here in this section, Christians in this section say the nastiest things to non-believers or people who have a faith different to their own. I don't understand how the people who claim to be the most gracious are the most cruel and unforgiving. I know that there are a few Christians on here who appear to be kind and non-judgmental but they are the minority. I am Spiritual and I try to do no harm to others and treat people with respect, I believe whatever gets you through the night, and whatever floats your boat. But when I see Christians make such nasty, sanctimonious remarks it makes me feel glad that I do not carry this nastyness and negativity around in my soul. Why, if you are Christian do you have to be nasty and derogatory to people who do not share your belief? Is this not contrary to the very nature of your faith?
