The Tree of Life still exist. Genesis 3 says that God placed an angel to guard the way to the Tree so that people could not get to it and eat, and live forever at that time.

In Revelation 22 it reappears. At the time, following the return of Christ and the coming of the New Jerusalem, people will again have access to the tree and be able to it from it.

(I think you actually wanted to ask about the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, which is what Adam and Eve ate from. The fate of that tree is not given in scripture)

Well, since Adam and Eve were evicted from the Garden of Eden and no one was there to care for the garden, it eventually was overrun. The tree of life was an actual tree but it symbolized everlasting life and eventually Adam and Eve would have been allowed to eat from it.

Since the tree has not yet served its purpose, that is to say, people do not yet live eternally on earth, what the tree symbolized is yet to come.

As mentioned in the Bible, the tree of life was guarded by angels after the Adamic sin occurred to keep humans from it.

As far as it's demise, God either removed his blessing from it and it died, or it was destroyed during the flood.
