since the origins of easter and christmas (and many other holidays) stem from paganism, why do christians tell us (pagans) that we're going to spend eternity in a firey, horrible place for celebrating our holidays such as ostara and yule (the original forms of easter and christmas)? when christianity tried to convert the pagans, they incorporated many of their beliefs/traditions to make it easier.

There are striking parallels between the attitude of Americans today to their government and the attitude of the Germans in the 1920s and 1930s to theirs. The Germans were afraid to question if what they were told by their government was the truth or not, refused to see the truth behind the Reichstag Fire, (9/11) refused to see the invasion by Poland (Iraq) was a staged fake, and followed Hitler (Bush) into national disaster.

You will goto hell for your mockery of the Lord. I shall laugh from upon high, while flying with my golden wings, while I sip a chalice of your blood mixed with honey on the clouds. While I watch you burn and be torn limb from limb for your blasphemy, infidel. Why don't you go join the ACLU and mock God some more! What will you do on your day of Judgement, imbecile!

Blasphemer!

Just seems a lil harsh to me- and why would someone get to drink my blood if I went to hell??

My daughter Mirela has been working on her religion project for our Sunday school class at our Church. Her project is basically reaching out to those that aren't saved yet, and the best way to do it.

Previously, I asked a question about China not being saved. It was quite a surprise.

This morning, my daughter let me know that only 22% of South Koreans have received Christ as their saviour. Obviously, this alarms me as well.

My wife tends to think that Mirela shouldn't spend so much time worrying about these things, but personally I can't think of anything more improtant than reaching out to the unchurched.

Besides, my daughter is already 8 years old. In a decade, she will be getting ready for marriage and building a solid home for a lucky man. So really, her time for individual achievement is now.

How do we reach out to the South Korean community? Once they replace those chant sticks with the real living gospel, they will be changed forever.

Cheers

If the global flood and creation in six days is proved false, does this disprove Christianity?

If Jesus' tomb had been found?

Is there any (hypothetical) fact that could shake Christian foundations?

Im due to move to Indiana at the end of this month and I am really looking forward to going. Where I am off to has a high christian population. I am neither a christian or an aetheist. I just dont care one way or another, but... Do American christians care? Am I likely to be cold shouldered?
Are there any Indiana residents that could give me advice?
Many thanks.

Catholic girl sues over foster home
Press Association
Friday March 9, 2007 9:43 AM

A Roman Catholic teenager has launched a £70,000 damages action against a council for sending her to live with Protestant foster parents.

The 18-year-old claims she was denied the opportunity to follow her religious persuasion during her time in care from the age of eight.

She is now seeking £70,000 in damages from Highland Council.

A judge has given the go-ahead for the case to be heard at the Court of Session in Edinburgh, Scotland's supreme civil court.

In a written judgment, Lord Uist said the action involved "novel and difficult questions of law".

The girl, who is only identified in court papers as "AR", was taken into care in 1997 after moving from the South of England to the Highlands with her mother, stepfather and brother. She remained in care for the next nine years.

Papers lodged in court state: "Although she is a Roman Catholic, the defenders placed her with two sets of foster carers who were Protestants and failed to facilitate her continuing to follow her religious persuasion throughout the period she was looked after and accommodated."

The teenager also alleges that her human rights were breached as she was prevented from having a relationship with her mother while in care. It is also claimed that the council failed to provide the girl, who has a learning disability, with appropriate education.

The teenager who returned to her mother's care last year, claims she has suffered from anxiety, distress, depression and educational impairment as a result of the council's actions.

She is seeking £50,000 for her suffering, loss of earnings and loss of employability and £20,000 for the alleged breach of her human rights. No date has been set for a further hearing.

Someone asked where they could find "the foreskin of Christ". I replied that it was sick, and someone said I wasn't a Christian...? Alright, I can be Christian and not want to read about Jesus's foreskin...

One for Good & one for evil.
And thats all there was to serve.
Now the good one was All Good, no evil at all
& the bad one wasn'nt totally evil, because it too knew it could be an imitation of an angel of light.
So the bad one gave rewards to those who would serve it, sometimes it would heal you for a season, or give you power or some supernatural thing that you would believe is only unique to you, or whatever you sinfully desired.
The Good One wanted you soo much to be on his team, but He could not Lie & He would not decieve you to be on His team, in fact all in all He's sounding rather boring. No Temptation to do things that will eventually harm you, no power trips that would cause hurt to your marrige family or anyone you knew, no deciept, no lies, no swearing, no extramarital sex, no drugs, but yes a good life where you have your ups & downs, to build your Character & lead you to the best LIFE that He has stored up for you.
Who are you going to follow? ....

As in: Someone would ask a question like, "Don't you think God is great?", and whenever someone would answer like, "Yes, I do, knowing he's up there helps me out" or something more elaborate ((and that makes more sense)), people rate it down to like, ten thumbs-down. I'm not an extremely spiritual person and I'm not outraged or anything, but why do people do it?
